SolarBat Sunglasses Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago I was asked to take part in a photo shoot. A good friend of mine and fellow graphic designer has landed a freelance project with an company titled SolarBat. They make high end sunglasses that are supposed to allow you to not only be able to see better but also allow you to see more crisp images for those of us that are fishermen and golfers. Hey, this is where I come in.

The funny thing about this is that the man that owns this company is actually a relative. An eye doctor from my home town he had invented these glasses and has been doing quite well with them from what it seems. You can see a couple of those photos here.

Besides the fact that I have a near perfect back swing, I look pretty darn good in these glasses. But more importantly is that I was able to take part in this photo shoot. These photos, mixed with a slew of others from Jordan Brown’s camera, will be showing up all over their soon to come website as well as the catalog and boxing. Also, in addition to all that, I will be featured in the storefront advertising for these glasses in both Bass Pro Shops and at Wal-Mart. If I didn’t already like that store enough now I have an even better excuse to go in. I can see my smiling face in some sunglasses.

I went to high school with Jordan and just recently have been able to reconnect with him. He is living in Fishers, not too far from where I reside, and we work for similar firms. He offered me this photo shoot without even knowing my connection to Gary Nesty, the eye doctor. And to add to this story, in the oh so how small of a world this, nearly all of the other models for this photo shoot are related to not only me but also Gary. Brett Lawson, who is a fifth cousin on my father’s side, is a key model for this shoot as well. I had not heard that name in over five years and here he is sharing a photo shoot with me. Again, I am continuously amazed at how small of a world this is.

So I guess the only thing left for you to do is go out and buy a pair of these sunglasses. I was told that I was going to be receiving a pair of these for my efforts in this shoot. Hey Jordan, where are my sunglasses? It’s OK though because I had a great time, got some good photos, and had the chance to begin some hilarious dialog on my Facebook page. I apparently, according to a colleague of mine, look very similar to Mr. David Duval. I took this as a fat joke, but all he could muster was a laugh.
