Go Hawaii: The Magic Isle of Maui

Go Hawaii: The Magic Isle of Maui

I am getting cabin fever… I need a vacation! I haven’t been on vacation since last November, and while some of you might think I travel a lot… well, I do. I love to travel. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine. I like to see the world, and every trip is a new adventure for me. I have a goal to see and spend the night in every country on the planet before I die. I am sure there are countries out there that I have never heard of, but that’s the beauty of it. It’s an adventure! Even traveling to the islands of Hawaii was an adventure.

Sheryl and I went to Hawaii a couple of years ago, and we miss it. She talks about it all the time, and we are making plans to go back next year. On our first trip we stayed near Honolulu, on the island of Oahu. I actually know several people on this island from Twitter, and it was an obvious first step. We stayed in Waikiki, right on the beach. That didn’t matter much, as we had a rental car and would find ourselves circling the island trying to see what we could find. We ended up having a great time, and it was probably one of the best vacations I have ever had. That’s why I am so excited to go back!

We also went to see the big island while we were there. We walked around on some black sand beaches and went inside a volcano. It was pretty boring, if you want me to be honest. The action and the beaches were on Oahu. But next year we want to see Maui. I know a few folks that have stayed on that island, and they say it’s the prettiest island. Plus, there are several golf courses on that island I wouldn’t mind playing. I really want to see Kaanapali Golf Resort, Kapalua Golf Resort, and Wailea. I can’t afford to play them all, but I would love to at least see these famous tracks.

We will be headed to Cabo in June, and will be staying in a resort right on the water. We have never stayed in a resort, so it will be a new experience for us. Hopefully we like it… because in Maui I would love to stay in a resort and just lay around for a week straight. Not sure when we will be going, but I will make sure to update you when those plans start taking shape.

Have you ever been to Maui?
