Emerging DJ/producer talent Ken Loi is cutting through the dance world like a buzzsaw. Named by Tiësto as his breakthrough DJ/producer of 2011 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ poll, he’s taken 2012 by storm with his own “Ken Loi EP” (Big Beat) and remixes of Minx & Nordean “You & I” (featuring Erik Hecht) and Gym Class Heroes “Ass Back Home”. Ken is also one of only four artists to be prominently featured in Supercuts national “Rock The Cut” marketing campaign.

Through “Rock The Cut”, fans have access to new releases for free from four featured artists via a customized music and discovery page (http://rockthecut.supercuts.com/) and the opportunity to discover new music from the hundreds of independent artists selected for the program. The campaign also includes documentary-style television spots featuring unscripted interviews of artists across genres while they get their hair cut and styled by actual Supercuts stylists, rehearse, perform and attend photo and video shoots.

Born in Australia, upcoming producer/DJ, Ken Loi has dubbed San Francisco his home since the early 80s. Ken began exploring music early on through piano lessons and participating in various competitions. He went on to graduate college with a degree in biology, however, his true passion remained with music. Ken felt compelled to dive into Euro dance and trance music after being inspired by major artists like Tiësto, M.I.K.E. / Push, Rank 1, Airbase, Markus Schulz, and Sander van Doorn. Ken currently works as an EMT by day, but as night falls, he dominates the party scene as a groundbreaking producer/DJ.

From 2005 to 2008, Ken produced and released his own tracks with record labels Perfecto Digital and Unearthed Records, while performing local gigs under his former alias, Elucidate. In 2009 he found his force as he began producing under his own name. His achievements included opening for Ferry Corsten’s “Twice in a Blue Moon: World Tour”, winning first place for Tiësto’s “Knock You Out” Beatportal contest, and debuting on radio shows, including Tiësto’s Club Life, Armin van Buuren’s ASOT, Markus Schulz’s GDJB, Rank1’s Radio Rush, and tyDi’s Global Soundsystem. As his talent grew, his styles transformed becoming a unique sound in the EDM scene. Ken Loi has been blowing up with his remixes for artists such as Tiësto, Kaskade, Markus Schulz, Martin Solveig, Marcel Woods, and Wynter Gordon. His signings include Dim Mak, High Contrast Recordings and Big Beat/Atlantic Records. After his bootleg of The Ting Ting’s Hands, released various artist began dropping the track at music events such as Stereosonic Festival Australia, Ultra Music Festival, and Energy 2011. Tiësto gave Ken’s bootleg of Hands popularity leading producers such as Kaskade, Steve Aoki, and Wolfgang Gartner to start spinning the mix as well. Once Ken Loi’s remix of Martin Solveig’s Hello, dropped, the world was listening, but he was undoubtedly recognized when his Only You, remix of Kaskade and Tiësto’s track hit the Beatport Top 100 Chart. Tiësto invited Ken Loi to play an opening set for the “Tiësto: In Concert” show at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. His energetic performance impressed Tiësto and his team enough to invite Ken to open more shows including the final stop of the Club Life: College Invasion in LA and several shows at San Francisco’s Ruby Skye. With his countless achievements, Ken Loi is definitely a breakthrough DJ/producer to follow with his undeniable sound and passion. Expect his future in the electronic dance world to be as loud and extraordinary as his beats.
