Ferrari Golf Collection: Cobra Puma Ferrari Driver

Ferrari Golf Collection: Cobra Puma Ferrari Driver

I am in the market for a new driver. I don’t want to spend a lot of money, but most new drivers are around $399 or $499. That doesn’t include the shaft that I want or the grip. I use stiff shafts on all my clubs and prefer the double chord grips. By the time I am out of the store, I am looking at dropping a ton of money on the latest gear.

Anyway, I was looking at Golfsmith the other day, and didn’t find anything. I like going there because they have a lot of used equipment. Used gear doesn’t cost, as much, and sometimes I can get lucky and find something with a shaft I like. I am not opposed to buying a used driver. As a matter of fact, I prefer a used drive because of the cost.

Before we moved, I was hitting balls with the TaylorMade R9 Superdeep TP. It had a smaller head, and a deep face. I liked the way it “popped” off the clubface on impact. Long story short, I asked them to save the driver and when I went back to purchase it the driver was gone. I haven’t been able to find one since.

Speaking of TaylorMade, they have worked with Porsche Design on a driver. Then Callaway worked with Lamborghini on a driver. Now Cobra is working with Ferrari. This driver is sick… it has a Ferrari red head, and just looks mean. I haven’t seen it in the stores, but I can imagine this driver looks even better in person.

This driver has been featured in all the golf magazines, and is making a lot of noise in the blogosphere. Has anyone hit this yet? I bet they make you sign a waiver when hitting it… because this driver isn’t cheap. Granted, the driver I am playing was $500 at one point… but this one is $2,000 new. That is insane!

This driver is a part of the Ferrari Golf Collection and is available in stores this month. The driver is available in limited quantities, so if you are going to get one you better hurry. These things will fly (or drive) off the shelf. See what I did there?

The red on the head goes all the way up the shaft and into the grip. I will admit this driver looks sick. Not sure it is going to help me hit the ball any further, but I can’t wait to hit it and see for myself. Imagine the looks I would get on the range if I pulled this bad boy out. The only thing that would make this driver better was if it had sound effects when I took the headcover off.

Has anyone his this yet? Would you ever consider spending this much on a golf club?
