Diplo Earns GRAMMY Nomination

Working on some of the biggest songs of 2012 including “Climax” (Usher), “Get Free” (Major Lazer featuring Amber Coffman), “La La La” (Snoop Lion), “Lies” (Marina & The Diamonds), “Look At These Hoes” (Santigold), “Push And Shove” (No Doubt featuring Busy Signal and Major Lazer), “Slight Work” (Wale featuring Big Sean), “Thought Of You (Justin Bieber), and “Too Close” (Alex Clare), Diplo has received a GRAMMY nomination for Producer of the Year!

“Few currently working in pop music bridges high and low, mainstream and underground, quite like Diplo.” – New York Times

This caps off another incredibly eventful year for Diplo. Not only did he release his critically acclaimed Express Yourself EP that started a viral movement and literally turned the Internet community on it’s head, Diplo ventured into uncharted territory with the release of his first photo book, 128 BPM (Rizzoli), and the new quarterly Blow Your Head zine, warranting profiles from NPR’s All Things Considered, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and cover stories in Billboard and Vibe. Diplo pulled all of that off while playing sold out shows from every corner of the planet , joined Skrillex and Grimes on the Full Flex Express tour, penned multiple columns for Vanity Fair, hosted the radio show Diplo & Friends for 98.7 in LA and BBC Radio 1 in the UK, helmed his Mad Decent record label and brand, launched sister label the Jeffrees and continued the Mad Decent Block Party in five cities across North America. 2013 will see the release of the highly anticipated follow-up album from the dancehall-inspired electro collective Major Lazer, coming February 19th on Mad Decent / Downtown.

Diplo has been busy. I wish him the best of luck with this well deserved GRAMMY nomination.
