My buddy Sean will get a kick out of this blog post. He likes dance music, and actually was the one to send me this release. I was so impressed I wanted to write a blog about it. This one is for you, Sean! Anyway, Felix Cartal pushes the definition of talented to new heights. He is a poster child of balanced electronic dance music, a Slurpee aficionado (don’t ask),a true workout warrior and lover of a decent font. Above all of that, Felix is one hell of a producer who seems to know exactly what his fans want, and how to deliver in a way that never lets them down.
Soon, Felix will be giving cause to celebrate once again with the release of his EP, Past Present Felix. 4 tracks that will absolutely make you lose your mind, such as “After Dark” featuring Koko LaRoo (a mature composition that will undoubtedly remind listeners of warm summer nights) and “New Scene” featuring Ofelia (a sensitive yet driving track with gorgeous vocal overlays). Never content to reproduce the same sounds over and over again, the Past Present Felix EP is a new era for this Canadian prodigy, and we’re stoked to be along for the ride.
