Jiggley Jones Interview

Artist Interview: 1-on-1 with Jiggley Jones

I love country music. Not the crap that is on the radio, but the stuff that comes from the heart. Country music is about the lyrics and about how I can relate to the stories being told. That is what this guy does… He writes great lyrics and tells a story in every song he sings. I was first introduced to him earlier this year, and have watching him have quite the successful 2013. He has releases some new music, won a couple of awards, and finds himself at the top of some of the most competitive charts in the business. He’s a busy guy, but I was able to grab a few minutes of his time for an exclsuive artist interview. This has been a LONG time coming, but it is my pleasure to introduce you to Jiggley Jones.

Is Jiggley Jones your real name?

No, but it is a real nickname that I’ve had for a long time.

“Music that paints a picture…” I love that. Where did that come from?

It was just an overall description of my writing style that came to me one day.

Tell me more about the IMEA Awards. Oh yeah… You WON songwriter of the year!

Yes, it was an awesome experience. It was the first crack at this event put on by the International Music and Entertainment Association, a non-profit organization put together to support the arts. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the category that I was nominated for, let alone the winning of it !!

What is your songwriting process like? Do you sit down to write a new song or do they just come to you?

Most of the time I put together an acoustic guitar progression and throw a vocal “scat” over that. When I have a viable arrangement, I usually base my lyrical ideas on the musical mood that’s created by the guitar and vocal.

Tell me about your relationship with MTS Management Group.

I have an awesome relationship with MTS Management Group and an awesome relationship with my manager, Michael Stover, one of the most hardworking individuals that I’ve ever met. He’s always looking to push forward and I’m lucky to be working with him.

I haven’t seen you live, but what can fans expect from a live performance?

It’s usually a very intimate and honest performance with me; My acoustic guitar and voice.

Have you ever made a mistake while on stage?

Every time I play! (Laughs.) The trick, and what separates the good musicians from the mediocre, is getting around it without giving it away.

How many songs will be on No Spring Chicken?

There are 4 songs on that release.

You have written a lot of songs… Is it possible to pick a favorite?

That seems to change from time to time. These days I’m leaning towards my Christmas song, “Christmas 365.”

Jiggley Jones – Christmas 365

How many guitars do you own?

I only have 2 at the moment.

I love country music, but modern day country music is more pop than it is country music. Who are some of your favorite country musicians?

I’d have to say the Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town and believe it or not, Taylor Swift. All of those acts have great vocal harmonies.

Have you ever recorded a cover song?

No, I haven’t, but I do one during my live performances. Maybe someday.

What is Bright Star International? Tell me more about them and your affiliation with that organization.

Bright Star International is an organization that couples an artist with the charities of their choice. It gives the charity a chance to help bring attention to their cause by getting a well known artist involved. Right now I’m on board and they’re just waiting for me to become more well known. (Laughs.) I can’t wait!

Speaking of Zac Brown, I went to see the Zac Brown Band the other night. It was a great show! What is the best concert you have ever been to?

Man… That’s a good question. How about James Taylor.

I’d like to buy you a drink. What’ll you have?

Right now a Blue Moon would be nice. Thanks!

You seem pretty active online. Do you manage all of your social media accounts?

Most of that is done by my manager, though I do keep up with them on a daily basis and add something once in awhile.

What’s next for Jiggley Jones?

I’ll be heading to Nashville to record my next album in January. I’m very excited about that!!!

In all of the interviews I do, I always give the artist the last word. Go.

2014 is slated to be a big year for me, so keep your eyes and ears open starting in the spring for the release of my new album. An announcement will be coming before the end of this year as per whom I’ll be working with on the record. In the meantime if you wanna keep up with my goings on, go to to my website and follow along from there. Thanks for your time!!!
