After a long time in the making, Project 46’s highly anticipated debut album is finally available in its entirety – and as the guys’ reputation precedes, it certainly will not disappoint.
Beautiful kicks off with lead single by the same namesake “Beautiful (It Hurts).” Favored by both fans and critics alike, the massive crossover record adopts a familiar pop structure, repurposing strummed guitar and soaring vocals into something that would not feel out of place in the club, rising into a melodic, big room instrumental that appeases the Canadian duo’s maximalist tendencies.
Project 46 flex their technical skill and display their deft ability to blend genre by tapping into a pool of budding talent for the album. “Forgettable” features silky smooth vocals by the young Canadian singer-songwriter Olivia while “My Only Friend” is a jovial sing-along with vocals from newcomer Sam James. Brooke Tomlinson, Jovany, Jesse Weeks, Karl Wolf, Ava Koci and HALIENE are also featured artists on Beautiful, each challenging Project 46 to adapt to their unique style and flair.
The album also includes hot collaborations that rocked the charts. Kaskade joins Project 46 on “Last Chance” which has docked over two million SoundCloud plays. The uplifting progressive stunner “Memories” comes in collaboration with Laidback Luke. It has received praise of equal acclaim, being played out at the world’s biggest music festivals like Ultra and Tomorrowland, and achieving airplay on top radio shows.
Project 46 have made an undeniable impact on the progressive house scene after exceptional breakthrough releases on the likes of Ultra Music, Spinnin’ Records and Monstercat, as well as DJ Mag Top 100 placements in 2012 and 2013 and huge collaborations with Laidback Luke, Kaskade and Paul Oakenfold amongst others.
