Last night I had a glass of CLIX Vodka and it got me thinking… I don’t drink vodka nearly as much as I used to. When I was in Poland that is all we drank. I still drink it with tonic from time to time, but have, thanks to Jon Schauder, moved to gin and tonic. As a matter of fact, I’ve been drinking tonic throughout the day. I like the bitter finish and, because it is carbonated, it keeps me full. Anyway, I was flipping through an old issue of GQ Magazine and found an advertisement for Grey Goose Vodka. It was a short poem, and I found it fitting, since I was drinking vodka, to share it with you. Enjoy!
A TOAST
TO THE CREW
TO CAHOOTS
TO THICK AS THIEVES
TO THICK OR THIN
TO HAVING HISTORY
TO HAVING YOUR BACK
TO DROPPING EVERYTHING
TO SAYING ANYTHING
TO LIFELONGS
TO BEEN TOO LONG
TO NOTHING’S CHANGED
TO SHAKING THINGS UP
TO SETTLING DOWN
TO NO JUDGMENTS
TO NO DOUBTS
TO FRIENDS
Vodka is about more than the drink in your hand… It is about the people you are sharing that drink. This poem could relate to any spirit, wine or beer… But I thank Grey Goose for sharing it with the world and I am happy to have it on my blog to share with you. Cheers!
