Musical Freedom brings you a brand new edition of Musical Freedom Radio, featuring Ummet Ozcan. Known mainly for his mastery of big room and electro stylings, Ummet decided to go against the grain and craft a tech-house inspired set for this weeks’ episode. Musical Freedom Radio allows artists to step outside the box and put together mixes you would not normally hear them play live. Highlights from last year include Don Diablo slowing it down in a chill 60-minute set, Oliver Heldens’ classic disco set and The Chainsmokers’ eclectic mix of indie dance tunes you may find on their music library. Ummet Ozcan says, “I really enjoyed this little side step on Musical Freedom Radio. I like different styles of dance music and tech house and techno are absolutely among my favorites! So every now and then it is fun to just play some other stuff than the usual. Variety is the spice of life!”
Dutch-Turkish DJ/producer Ummet Ozcan has been in the electronic music game since 2007. Starting off producing in the tech-trance genre, Ummet has since moved on to making massive dark electro tracks that still feature hints of his trance roots. In 2013, he released “The Code,” a hit that propelled him to the top of the charts and gained support by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Calvin Harris and Hardwell. In 2015, he released his Calvin Harris collaboration “Overdrive,” followed by “The Hum” with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, the later of which featured a famed music video with guest appearances from Charlie Sheen and Jean Claud van Damme. Ozcan is continuing his domination of the electronic music scene in 2016 with the releases of “Wake Up the Sun” and “Spacecats” and shows no signs of slowing down.
