sip on spirited cocktails at these stories haunts
On a recent American Airlines flight, I grabbed a copy of American Way Magazine and found a fun article written by Amber Gibson titled Halloween Hooch. The article featured 5 bars nationwide where you can enjoy spooky (see what I did there?) cocktails and a recipe for a drink that sounds delicious. The drink is called Redrum Punch. This drink contains:
- 2 ounces Brugal Anejo Rum
- 1 ounce fresh orange juice
- ½ ounce fresh lime juice
- ½ ounce grenadine
- ¼ ounce Cherry Heering
- Dash of Angostura bitters
Shake and strain over ice. Garnish with a Luxardo maraschino cherry.
Doesn’t that sound delicious? The drink seems simple enough, but I would prefer to have a mixologist make it for me. I am never very good at making cocktails like that.
Like I said, the article was about these bars, and I wouldn’t do this blog post justice if I didn’t at least mention them. So, here you go:
- No Name Saloon & Grill Park City, Utah
- Notch8 Vancouver, British Columbia
- Palm Coast Asheville, North Carolina
- Old Glory Nashville, Tennessee
- The Stanley Hotel Estes Park, Colorado
I’ve not been to any of these bars, but I am sure Amber picked them for a reason. Some of them look pretty great, so I will make sure to visit these if I find myself in these cities in the near future. I really need to visit Nashville, so I expect that will be first on the list.
Regardless, mix yourself some Redrum Punch, if you dare, and let us know how it is. I’ll drink to that. Cheers!
