Seth Greene is a Nationally Recognized Direct Response Marketing Expert and the author of five best-selling marketing books. His latest, “Market Domination for Podcasting” hit Barnes & Noble earlier this year. Scott Stevens, Eat Sleep Golf, introduced me to Seth, and as a guy that is new to podcasting, I did some research on Seth and wanted to learn more. I reached out to his team and we scheduled an interview to discuss his efforts. This was fun for me and it was exciting to learn more about his career and his future plans. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Seth Greene.
You are a Direct Response Marketing Expert. What does that entail? I could guess, but I would rather an expert define it for me!
We create marketing that gets prospects to take action that can be tracked. Instead of brand building, where your focus is getting your name out there, we focus on generating leads and sales.
You are the founder of Market Domination. Tell me more about the company and why you decided to start a marketing firm like that.
Market Domination one of the fastest growing direct response marketing firms in the country. The marketing Dan Kennedy and I created to grow my financial services firm got me a lot of media attention. Financial Advisors started calling me and asking to hire me. So, I started the marketing firm to serve them, and then it took off to help over 150,000 entrepreneurs in hundreds of different industries.
Marketing Domination does a lot with social media. It looks like you work with all the major networks, but Google+ is missing. Why aren’t you focused on that network?
They simply don’t have the user base or as robust a targeted ad platform as the others.
You list Snapchat as “what’s next.” I have to disagree. I have yet to see any value in that network. The same with Instagram Stories. Try to change my mind.
We are currently reevaluating that statement. So, I won’t try and change your mind.

What is BMD Publishing all about?
I started BMB Publishing to handle our client’s books in-house. We publish 5-10 business books per month. Those books are designed to make our clients the authority in their marketplace, serve as the ultimate lead generation tool, and generate referrals for our clients.
You have been featured on CBS MoneyWatch, CBS news, etc. Are you actively looking to go on these programs, or do they find you/ask you to come on?
Both. Arden at FarrowPR does an awesome job of getting us booked, and some come organically due to my books, podcasts, and speaking engagements.
There are a lot of podcasts out there. I listen to Dave Ramsey, Andy Stanley and a laundry list of dance music podcasts. What are some of your favorite podcasts right now?
Tony Robbins, Gary Vaynerchuck, Timothy Ferris, Wizard of Ads, and Perpetual Traffic.

Where did you go to school and what did you study?
Syracuse University – I studied drama and marketing.
You are the only Back-To-Back-Back GKIC Dan Kennedy Marketer of the Year Nominee. Tell me more about that and what that means to you.
It was a 10-year dream to be a part of that competition. To be honored three years in a row was incredible. It means the world that I have climbed so high in the direct response marketing world. Without Dan I would still be a Financial Advisor cold calling for business. He changed my life, so to be recognized by him means the world to me. One of the proudest moments of my life (other than getting married and the births of my three children).
I work in the golf business. We have several different organizations like the CMAA and the PGA. Are there any organizations like that in your world? If so, do you belong to any? Curious to learn more about continued education programs in your space.
Yes. GKIC, Digital Marketer, Information Marketing Association, Direct Marketing Association, etc. I am always investing in continued education. Literally every day.
