I had only been living in New York for a few years. I moved here when I was 18 for college, but after a few semesters I realized that higher education wasn’t for me. I already had a good job, and I adored my apartment. It was a cute little studio on 5th avenue with a great view of the city. I actually got a great deal on the place, and was only paying $1,250 a month. That included water, trash, and the electricity. The landlord was great.

Chicago is just pumping out one great band after another. I have no idea where these guys came from, but I am glad I found them. They are brand new and have a debut EP out now. They are also traveling all over the Midwest playing their tunes for people. They will be in Indianapolis at Birdy’s Bar & Grill for Indy Meets Windy 2, a great concept featuring both local Indianapolis bands and some up and coming Chicago acts.

I don’t know what it is, but I am obsessed with the Titanic. I obviously wasn’t on the ship… not do I know anyone that was. But over the last few years, I have become obsessed with her story and learning all I can about the ship. That, and the movie was pretty good! I recently had the chance to see it in 3D, and while the 3D didn’t help, the movie looks great on the big screen. It was much better than I remember.

These PGA professional interviews are so much fun for me. There is just so much talent out there, and it’s an honor for me to meet and work with these guys. I actually met this guy in January down at the PGA Merchandise Show. I had been connected with him on Twitter for a long time, but had no idea what he looked like. When we met, it was like we had known each other for years. We have since stayed in close contact, and I love what he is doing at Stones River [...]

I’ve never actually met this guy, but we are connected on Twitter. As a matter of fact, a few days ago he posted something on Twitter about his YouTube channel. I went over, watched a few of the videos, and subscribed to the channel. Then he sent me a message on Twitter asking me if I wanted a signed copy of his book. Heck yeah I do! He sent me the book, and I read the entire thing in one sitting. Yeah, it’s that good. I reached out to him for an interview because [...]

Until I read this book, I had no idea who Henry Picard was. The book isn’t very long, but it opened my eyes to the impact this man had on the game of golf. If it wasn’t for Tim Ryan, author of Henry Picard – The Hersey Hurricane I might never have had the chance to read it. My good friend John Graham also did a review of it on his blog… so the book is getting some serious attention. But I met Tim on Twitter, and he sent me a copy of the book. I was so impressed I wanted [...]

I couldn’t tell you where I met these guys, but I’m glad I did. I first met Dean… actually, I haven’t met any of the other band members. But I met Dean and was immediately impressive. Not only is he a really nice guy, he also is the lead singer in a local Christian rock band. Yes… Christian rock band. I love Christian music, and these guys produce some impressive tracks. Each song has a message and they deliver it with a serious [...]

Until my friend Anton mentioned this band to me, I had never heard of them. I loved the name, and when he told me they won the 2011 Battle of Birdy’s, I knew they had to be good. Battle of Birdy’s is an event that happens every year that features some of the best talent in the Circle City. The Battle gets a lot of attention to, and tends to pack Birdy’s year after year. When these guys are on stage, the stage is packed too… there are nine of them. Needless to [...]

This guy lives up north… way north. He lives in Canada. He is actually one of the top instructors in Canada, and is just killing it with his social media efforts. He had a great 2011, and is ready to start 2012 on the right foot. He is the Director of Instruction at Wyndance Golf Club, and is a member of the PGA of Canada. Oh yeah, and he was the 2010 PGA of Canada and PGA of Ontario Teacher of the Year. He is also a PGA and the LPGA instructor and truly understands [...]

One day, on my way to work, I turned on the radio. I usually listen to NPR in the morning, but for some reason I switched it over to another station. I can’t remember what station it was on, but they were in the middle of an interview with a man who worked for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The interview was really good, and I was inspired by what this man had to say. I was so impressed, I stopped the car and looked him up on my phone. I would eventually reach out [...]
