I don’t even know where to begin… these guys are one of the hardest working bands in the Circle City. I have known Nick, the lead singer, for a few years now, and never thought to work with them until the last rickyleepotts.com presents six bands for six bucks. It just made sense. So I offered them a spot. They ended up playing last, and played for nearly 100 fans. That’s hard to do in this city, especially after midnight. But they promoted the show and they made me proud. That, and they are really nice people! Anyway, I liked them so much, I just had to learn more. I asked Nick if he would be able and willing to sit for an interview, and here we are. Another thing I like about these guys… they are rock. I am not talking about that pop crap you head on the radio. I am talking straight up rock and roll music. They are even doing work with Brad Real, a local rap artist. It is my pleasure to introduce you to The Holland Account. Welcome to Holland!

Here is another professional I met on Twitter… that seems to be a trend for me lately. I have been chatting with this guy online for a while now, and finally had the chance to meet him at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show. We met at the Brick House Tavern + Tap, started talking, and the time just flew by. We have stayed in close contact since, and I just knew I needed to learn more about him and his career. He is currently at The Raven Golf Club in Phoenix, working with Megan Padua, Jeff Ritter, and Martin Chuck. If there was such a thing as a “dream team” in golf instruction… it would be this.

These PGA professional interviews are so much fun for me. There is just so much talent out there, and it’s an honor for me to meet and work with these guys. I actually met this guy in January down at the PGA Merchandise Show. I had been connected with him on Twitter for a long time, but had no idea what he looked like. When we met, it was like we had known each other for years. We have since stayed in close contact, and I love what he is doing at Stones River [...]

Nicky Romero can also look back at the last 12 months with satisfaction. 2011 saw Nicky release a string of club bombs that just got better and better as the year progressed. Any DJ will testify that his original tracks such as Camorra and Toulouse or remixes of Green Velvet, Tiësto, Flo-Rida and David Guetta will tear off the roof in any club. Top names like Tiësto, Fedde Le Grand, David Guetta and Sander Van Doorn all often feature tracks by Nicky in their sets [...]

I’ve never actually met this guy, but we are connected on Twitter. As a matter of fact, a few days ago he posted something on Twitter about his YouTube channel. I went over, watched a few of the videos, and subscribed to the channel. Then he sent me a message on Twitter asking me if I wanted a signed copy of his book. Heck yeah I do! He sent me the book, and I read the entire thing in one sitting. Yeah, it’s that good. I reached out to him for an interview because [...]

When we travel to places like this, we usually stay right by, sometimes on the water. When we were in Aruba two years ago we stayed across the street from the beach. We literally walked out of our hotel room, across the street, and were on the beach ready to get wet. Anyway, earlier this week I found an article on Yahoo! that featured 12 hotels with overwater bungalows. I won’t write about them all, but here are some that I plan on staying in… sometime in [...]

I’m not a DJ, but it always boggles my mind when I see more than one person on the decks. Like Above & Beyond… there are three of them. Come to think of it, I have seen Above & Beyond play sever times, and have never seen all three of them perform at once. Anyway, the guys I am sitting with today don’t seem too crowded up there. But don’t worry, I asked them about it. Maybe by having two guys up there they can produce twice the music that is twice as [...]

Matt Duncan, David Cornelius, and Matt McIntyre founded Brackets For Good back in November 2011. Brackets For Good is an Indianapolis-based non-profit that hosts online fundraising tournaments for other non-profits at no cost. Participants are matched up on a bracket and “play” one another just like in the NCAA. They earn points when people visit the site and donate. Seems pretty simple. In the end, all participants keep 100% of the [...]

We like to party on New Year’s Eve. Last year we were in Chicago, and gave the Windy City a run for its money. This year we wanted to stay close to home, so we booked a hotel room downtown and went to the ChaCha party at the Indiana State Museum. It was a lot of fun, and we got to hang out with a lot of friends from the Circle City. That night, besides for the casino they had going on upstairs in the VIP, they had some entertainment that turned a few [...]
