When I first heard that David Guetta was coming to the Midwest I knew I had to go. He was playing at a small venue in Columbus, Ohio called BoMA. BoMA, the Bar of Modern Art, actually resides in an old church. The building was renovated into a music venue as well as a place to hold private events like wedding receptions and art exhibits. When first driving by BoMA you would never think that a DJ from the other side of the world would manage to land [...]

Getting the chance to have dinner at Peterson’s Restaurant was simply not enough. I also had to meet the man that made all of that food possible. The executive chef at Peterson’s is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu and it truly shows in every dish that is brought to the table. He is also a huge Indianapolis Colts fan. I will not hold that against him as I really wanted to pick his brain on what goes into every dish. For a man that works as much as he does [...]

At about six o’clock on Friday night I had no plans for dinner. I was sitting at home replying to a handful of emails when I got a text message from a good buddy of mine, Ian Myers, asking if I wanted to join him for dinner. He said that he had some coupons that were given to him at work for dinner at Maggiano’s. I had never been to Maggiano’s before and I figured I would give it a shot. I am not even a huge fan of Italian [...]

This past Monday night I had the opportunity to have dinner at one of the nicest places in town. This establishment is known for their fresh seafood, prime cut steaks, and unbeatable wine list. The building sits on the north side of town, stands alone, and always sports a packed parking lot. They are locally owned, operated, and the attention to detail from the girls walking you to your seat, the servers bending over backwards to give you exactly what you desire to the managers [...]

To go along with the recent post that I wrote reviewing my experience at Scotty’s Brewhouse, I took some time to sit with the 96th street location’s kitchen manager. We sat down after the meal as I wanted to make sure I had topics of conversation for her when we did meet. I had heard from our server that she was in on her day off and that it might even be past her bed time for us to have this interview, but she was excited to speak with me. I was excited as [...]

This past Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 I went out for dinner. My girlfriend and I were being hosted at Scotty’s Brewhouse on 96th street for an evening of food, drinks, and conversation. The event actually started on Twitter when I took up a conversation with managing partner Scott Wise. I bet you can’t tell me where the name Scotty’s Brewhouse came from. He and I began discussing social media, blogging [...]

As some of you know a couple of weeks ago my girlfriend and I had an unfortunate series of events take place with Dave & Buster’s here in Indianapolis. It all started three months prior and led to a four-hour wait for a table, rude hostesses, servers, and management. Since then I have reached out through Facebook to Dave & Buster’s, which led to a series of emails and phone calls with the appropriate people in guest services at D&B corporate offices. I was promised an [...]

Halloween has always been known as the holiday to pig out on candy corn and to dress up as scary as you can to freak out your friends and neighbors. Growing up I would always get excited about this holiday for many reasons. The first was the candy that I would be able to partake in that night and the following weeks. This was motivation, of course, to get the most that I could when knocking on doors. I dressed up like a variety of characters throughout [...]

This past Saturday was my girlfriend’s birthday. She was turning thirty, and as the age-old saying goes, “You only turn thirty once.” She had a weekend full of fun planned that included lunch with her mom and brother, a night out with over twenty of her closest friends at the newly opened and ever popular Dave & Buster’s in Castleton, and a day at Kings Island with some die hard roller coaster fans. Saturday started just fine as her and I traveled [...]

This past Thursday the Circle City Chamber Group held their first TweetUp. The event was held at the Mass. Ave Wine Shoppe located downtown off of Massachusetts Avenue and ran from 6:00 PM until just after 8:00 PM. It was organized by the staff at the Circle City Chamber Group as a way to raise awareness about the group but also as a way to continuously build on relationships with their sponsors. The Mass Ave Wine Shoppe, owned and operated by Jill [...]
