I don’t listen to a lot of rap, but when I meet guys like this… I can’t help but listen. This guy come from the Windy City, and really has a grasp on what it takes to build a polished personal brand. I don’t really understand the meaning behind his name… but we will get to that. He has a new single called I’m Blowin Up, and while he isn’t actually blowing up in the song, the tune carries a solid beat with some professional lyrics that demand attention.

Earlier this year, I was working a show at the Old National Centre. It was in the Egyptian Room, and the opening act was Brent James & The Contraband. I didn’t know why, but I knew I had heard that name before. When they came out on stage, it came to me… I was friends with Brent on Facebook! I took some photos of the band, and sent him a message on Facebook. Before too long, we were chatting and we scheduled an interview.

Where would I be without Twitter? I wouldn’t know half the people I know. I met this guy on Twitter too. We were following each other for a while, and I had the chance to meet him down in Orlando at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show. I love this guys… he is funny, always has a smile on his face, and says, “mate” all the time.

Here is another professional I met on Twitter… that seems to be a trend for me lately. I have been chatting with this guy online for a while now, and finally had the chance to meet him at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show. We met at the Brick House Tavern + Tap, started talking, and the time just flew by. We have stayed in close contact since, and I just knew I needed to learn more about him and his career. He is currently at The Raven Golf Club in Phoenix, working with Megan Padua, Jeff Ritter, and Martin Chuck. If there was such a thing as a “dream team” in golf instruction… it would be this.

Brad Real has been making a lot of noise around the Circle City. Brad is a local rap artist that spits some of the most honest and meaningful lyrics of any rapper I know. I have said it before, and I will say it again… the thing that impresses me most about Brad is that he doesn’t use profanity in his lyrics. Rap music and profanity usually go hand in hand, and even when I was listening to this album for the first time I was waiting for it. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few thrown in here and there… but not enough to constitute a warning on the front of the disc.

Last year I worked on an Internet marketing campaign for the 2011 The Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship. The event takes place every two years at Whispering Pines Golf Club, and features 80 players from 20 countries. It was the first time I had heard of the event, but after spending several months obsessed with [...]

These PGA professional interviews are so much fun for me. There is just so much talent out there, and it’s an honor for me to meet and work with these guys. I actually met this guy in January down at the PGA Merchandise Show. I had been connected with him on Twitter for a long time, but had no idea what he looked like. When we met, it was like we had known each other for years. We have since stayed in close contact, and I love what he is doing at Stones River [...]

I’ve never actually met this guy, but we are connected on Twitter. As a matter of fact, a few days ago he posted something on Twitter about his YouTube channel. I went over, watched a few of the videos, and subscribed to the channel. Then he sent me a message on Twitter asking me if I wanted a signed copy of his book. Heck yeah I do! He sent me the book, and I read the entire thing in one sitting. Yeah, it’s that good. I reached out to him for an interview because [...]

I’m not a DJ, but it always boggles my mind when I see more than one person on the decks. Like Above & Beyond… there are three of them. Come to think of it, I have seen Above & Beyond play sever times, and have never seen all three of them perform at once. Anyway, the guys I am sitting with today don’t seem too crowded up there. But don’t worry, I asked them about it. Maybe by having two guys up there they can produce twice the music that is twice as [...]

We like to party on New Year’s Eve. Last year we were in Chicago, and gave the Windy City a run for its money. This year we wanted to stay close to home, so we booked a hotel room downtown and went to the ChaCha party at the Indiana State Museum. It was a lot of fun, and we got to hang out with a lot of friends from the Circle City. That night, besides for the casino they had going on upstairs in the VIP, they had some entertainment that turned a few [...]
