A Victory For Your Taste: Victory Beers

A Victory For Your Taste: Victory Beers

This 1001 Bottles project has been fun, and I am learning a ton about beer. From where beers are made to the ingredients they use, beer is a very complex beverage and one that as I expand my palate am getting more and more obsessed with. I am actually starting to fall in love with breweries, not just the styles. For example, Founders Brewing Company. They make a wide range of beers, and they are ALL amazing. Another brewery that I am really getting excited about is the Victory Brewing Company.

Love Is Not Enough featuring Zoë Johnston

Love Is Not Enough featuring Zoë Johnston

Love Is Not Enough is a song from the heart about the challenges in a relationship that can arise outside of a core feeling of love for someone. Love is not enough to be with someone – a relationship needs to work day to day.” says Jono Grant of Above & Beyond. Adding some stadium-sized energy to the EP is the huge, groove-fueled Above & Beyond Club Mix in all its riff-driven glory. It has received huge responses on the trio’s recent North America tour, as well as at the Group Therapy Miami event.

Welcome To Holland: The Holland Account

Welcome To Holland: The Holland Account

I don’t even know where to begin… these guys are one of the hardest working bands in the Circle City. I have known Nick, the lead singer, for a few years now, and never thought to work with them until the last rickyleepotts.com presents six bands for six bucks. It just made sense. So I offered them a spot. They ended up playing last, and played for nearly 100 fans. That’s hard to do in this city, especially after midnight. But they promoted the show and they made me proud. That, and they are really nice people! Anyway, I liked them so much, I just had to learn more. I asked Nick if he would be able and willing to sit for an interview, and here we are. Another thing I like about these guys… they are rock. I am not talking about that pop crap you head on the radio. I am talking straight up rock and roll music. They are even doing work with Brad Real, a local rap artist. It is my pleasure to introduce you to The Holland Account. Welcome to Holland!

Little Known Facts About RMS Titanic

Little Known Facts About RMS Titanic

I don’t know what it is, but I am obsessed with the Titanic. I obviously wasn’t on the ship… not do I know anyone that was. But over the last few years, I have become obsessed with her story and learning all I can about the ship. That, and the movie was pretty good! I recently had the chance to see it in 3D, and while the 3D didn’t help, the movie looks great on the big screen. It was much better than I remember.

Balance 021: Mixed by Nic Fanciulli

CD1, entitled simply “Balance” is a subtle and expertly crafted mix that balances a plethora of diverse tracks, often three at a time, to create an expansive but well focused journey. Infused with a true timeless quality, the mix was approached in a way that will enable it to sound as good in ten years time as it does today. Individual records were meticulously edited one by one to provide the album with a fluid and natural flow, displaying a more heightened sense of musicality than we are often used to in dance music.

Artist Interview: Brent James & The Contraband

Artist Interview: Brent James & The Contraband

Earlier this year, I was working a show at the Old National Centre. It was in the Egyptian Room, and the opening act was Brent James & The Contraband. I didn’t know why, but I knew I had heard that name before. When they came out on stage, it came to me… I was friends with Brent on Facebook! I took some photos of the band, and sent him a message on Facebook. Before too long, we were chatting and we scheduled an interview.
