5 New Apps to Try

As most of you know, I don’t pay for apps. I have had an iPhone since the day it came out and an iPad for a couple of years now… and I refuse to pay for apps. It seems like everything I want my devices to do I can accomplish with free apps. I use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Netflix (I pay for the service, but the app is free), Shazam (I got a premium version of that when it was free during a promotion) and several other apps on a regular basis. Earlier today I was [...]

Learning from one of Canada’s Top Instructors with Jason Helman

This guy lives up north… way north. He lives in Canada. He is actually one of the top instructors in Canada, and is just killing it with his social media efforts. He had a great 2011, and is ready to start 2012 on the right foot. He is the Director of Instruction at Wyndance Golf Club, and is a member of the PGA of Canada. Oh yeah, and he was the 2010 PGA of Canada and PGA of Ontario Teacher of the Year. He is also a PGA and the LPGA instructor and truly understands [...]

Accelerating the world’s most promising research with Dan Zenka

One day, on my way to work, I turned on the radio. I usually listen to NPR in the morning, but for some reason I switched it over to another station. I can’t remember what station it was on, but they were in the middle of an interview with a man who worked for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The interview was really good, and I was inspired by what this man had to say. I was so impressed, I stopped the car and looked him up on my phone. I would eventually reach out [...]

Artist Interview: 1-on-1 with Tax Brandywine

The amount of talent in the city of Indianapolis amazes me. Every time I turn around I discover a new band that I never knew about… and that I can’t get enough of. This band lives right down the road from me in Noblesville, Indiana. Their lyrics are incredible, the vocals are amazing, and the sound is very “jam band” friendly. There is a difference from a jam band that just gets together to play for their friends… and a band that has potential to make it. These guys [...]

Happy Birthday Robert Noyce!

Today’s Google Doodle pays homage to Robert Norton Noyce (December 12, 1927 – June 3, 1990), the “Mayor of Silicon Valley”. He founded the Fairchild Semiconductor in 1957 and Intel in 1968. (Yeah, Intel is a pretty big deal!) He is also credited (along with Jack Kilby) with the invention of the integrated circuit or microchip which fueled the personal computer revolution and gave Silicon Valley its name. Needless to say, he played a key role in developing [...]

Making Golf A Better Game with Mike Fay aka Big Wheel

I first met Mike on Twitter. I’ve never met him in real life… only online. But that’s okay, because we have been able to build a great relationship 140 characters at a time. As a matter of fact, when I first started doing these PGA teaching professional interviews, he showed interest. I didn’t know much about him until we sat down for the interview. Boy does this guy have a well rounded toolkit. The guy is a great player, an incredible coach, and even runs a Twitter [...]

2011 DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Application

I don’t usually talk about the apps that I use. No reason… I just never have. But I just downloaded an app that I LOVE. While I was in Arizona last week, on vacation, I was reading an issue of DJ Mag on my iPad. They were advertising their iPhone and iPod app. The ad didn’t mention the iPad. Since I was already using my iPad I went to the app store to see. Sure enough, they had an iPad version. The app is free, so I downloaded it. I didn’t have high expectations [...]

The GURU: Teaching & Coaching Golf with Jason Sutton

When I first got the idea to write interviews with PGA teaching professionals, I never realized how many of these guys I was already friends with. Sometimes, when I interview a band, I need to work hard just to get a finger on the pulse of their main points of contact. So far (granted, this is only my second one) getting in touch with these golf guys hasn’t been a challenge. I actually have so many of these guys lined up I don’t know who to work with next! Anyway, the guy [...]

Artist Interview: 1-on-1 with Terra Naomi

Oh man, does this lady have a good voice. Good doesn’t even do it justice. This woman has an AMAZING voice. I was surfing around the other day on Google+ and I saw a video that my friend Peg Fitzpatrick shared. It was of Terra, singing. But the funny thing about me finding this video on Google+ was that this video was a video about Google+… random, I know. But Terra has a ton of connections on Google+ and she decided to write a song about [...]
