Artist: PLS&TY
Title: 3 Days, 2 Nights EP
Label: Seeking Blue Records
Release date: July 14, 2023
PLS&TY has been teasing his 3 Days, 2 Nights EP nearly all spring and summer so far, and now fans can enjoy the full spectrum of his light-to-dark sounds with its official full release. While it features previously released tracks “Party In My Head” with Lost Boy, and “New Color” on the daytime side, the deeper, more underground sounding songs came in the form of “Yours” with Tudor, and “Upside,” featuring Ben Samama. PLS&TY now also includes 2 brand new tracks exclusive to the EP. “Limit” rides on euphonious melodies and an organic, rolling bassline for a groovy and easy-listening record, while “Echoes” opens with cinematic melodies and mesmerizing vocals for a euphoric transition from the beach to the dance floor. The EP makes a strong statement that PLS&TY can’t be put in a box of sounds or genres, and we can’t wait to ride along for the rest of his upward journey this year.
Read on for his inspiration behind this multifaceted project:
“Are you up for a free 3 Days, 2 Nights vacation? As the 3 Days, 2 Nights project unveils, each song and album cover take inspiration from the day and night motifs/themes of the EP titling, progressing in the order of the tracklisting from day to night. There is something for everyone here – music for all moods, places, seasons, and times. The project stands on new ground for the direction of PLS&TY original music moving forward – born out of a place of freedom to create without bounds or borders, or in an attempt to fit the confines of a particular genre that fans may have previously known me for. I’m very lucky to include the talents of Ben Samama, Jocelyn Alice, Lost Boy, Tudor, and more. Enjoy my favorite body of work to date.”
Tommy Leas, a Florida native – better known as PLS&TY – is burgeoning into the electronic dance music scene with his unique sound: languid bass, captivating vocals, and enough upbeat melodies to make anybody feel good. His music has amassed over 100 million streams across platforms – that’s if you don’t include a feature in a Hershey’s chocolate television commercial that has now reached over 1 billion views. PLS&TY’s singles have charted on Billboard, have consecutively reached #1 on iTunes four times, and have been remixed by GRAMMY-nominated Morgan Page, Rusko, Cazzette, Bondax, and YehMe2. Tommy has also toured a bevy of A-list festivals, including Shaky Beats, Breakaway, Electric Forest, EDC Vegas, and more. After releasing his debut Very Special EP, which featured platinum-selling artists like Sean Kingston, Alex Aiono (of Netflix’s “Finding Ohana”), Wifisfuneral, and more, 2020-2022 saw PLS&TY become an early adopter of the emerging NFT technology. PLS&TY has co-designed skateboard deck NFTs for Tony Hawk, as well as visuals for celebrity athletes like Floyd Mayweather and even members of Congress. Most recently, PLS&TY’s NFT projects were referenced in Billboard at the #3 and #10 positions of Top Music NFT Sales in August and September of 2022 alongside Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and David Bowie. 2023 sees PLS&TY emerging with new music and an ever-growing global community of fans following his art, all while wielding the lighthearted “mind your manners” and “please and thank you” catchphrases.

I was blown away by this guy when I first heard “Party in my Head” and knew his EP was going to be great. And it is! The EP dropped today and I’ve already listened to it twice. I like “Party in my Head” but “Yours” and “Upside” are fire. And the artwork he uses is tops. I didn’t know much about this guy, was surprised he was from the United States, and was eager to learn more. I reached out, dove down the rabbit hole, and got the chance to interview him. Good timing, too. I figured the best time to share this conversation was on the same day the EP dropped. I am a HUGE fan of this guy, and I hope you dig his new EP. It is my pleasure to introduce you to PLS&TY.
Your new EP drops on July 14. Tell me more about 3 Days, 2 Nights, why you named it that, and the 6 tracks on this release.
The 3 Days, 2 Nights EP on Seeking Blue features 6 cascading singles from March to July, all presenting a new pop-house/dance sound for PLS&TY. 3 songs feature lighter piano house production, playing off of the “3 Days” daytime motif and titling, while 2 feature darker house production, playing off of the “2 Nights” nighttime motif and titling. The day to night concept and EP titling came about organically whilst working on the production of the songs. The productions were created with what felt like a natural counterpart to the toplines/vocals, and I ultimately ended up with songs for every time of day, season, mood, or place.
3 Days, 2 Nights is out on Seeking Blue. Tell me more about that label and your experience working with them on this EP.
I believe that with this 3 Days, 2 Nights EP, Seeking Blue cements itself as a label that is not afraid to take risks or place themself into a mold confined by only one genre or style. Without Seeking Blue, this project, that was at the core born out of a place of freedom to create without in an attempt to fit the confines of a particular genre that fans may have previously known PLS&TY for, would not exist.
Where did the name PLS&TY come from?
PLS&TY derives from my last name, Leas, which rhymes with the word “please”, and the letters “T” and “Y” that are in my first name, Tommy. When “please” was shorted to PLS, the “T” and “Y” were put together, and PLS&TY was created.
You worked with Lost Boy, Tudor, and Ben Samama on this EP. Why did you pick them, and do you go out looking to feature someone or does it just fall in your lap organically?
Each collaboration came about uniquely. I have personally been a fan of each of these artists for quite some time, and it’s an honour to have them a part of the 3 Days, 2 Nights occasion. Ben Samama is a GRAMMY-nominated songwriter who has featured on previous songs with Meduza, ATB, and more. My first glimpse into Jocelyn Alice’s work was within the remix world from Sony/Disruptor Records inquiry about a PLS&TY Remix for her single titled “I Know”. I stumbled upon Lost Boy on Spotify from his previous collaborations with Deorro and Laidback Luke, and his voice and talent were undeniable.
Digging the tee shirts. But LOVE the baseball jersey. Why a baseball jersey and not a hat or a hoodie?
Quite simply, I love the look of the baseball jerseys from a fashion perspective, and think they are a unique piece to have in the collection.
I love your sound… It has straight festival vibes. Do you prefer playing big shows or small club gigs?
Both have a place in my heart. Festivals are incredible, but the pressure to deliver to the masses is on. Operating for a festival performance like a well-oiled machine, we come ready with a dialed-in sound, visual, and lighting show. There is much more experimentation that happens at club shows, whereby I can try and test new songs and new ideas.
Speaking of festivals, I’d love to see you live… Any plans for a tour this summer?
To Be Determined. Keep your eyes peeled!
“Upside” is FIRE, man. Well done! You’ve been shooting a video for that single. Tell me more about that… It looks like something out of a doomsday movie or something!
The premise for the “Upside” music video is a modern fairytale that showcases a dystopian world ruled by women who hunt men for pleasure and force them to fight & perform against each other for their survival. The film is a commentary on consumerism, ownership, and lusting after one’s desires. It’s my largest and most exciting music video project to date!
I like Hershey’s Chocolate. After reaching over 1 billion views, I bet you do, too! Tell me more about that commercial, how that came about, and do they send you bags of Hershey’s Chocolate? 1 billion, man. That’s impressive.
It was an exciting opportunity and great achievement to have one of my song’s placed in a Hershey’s Chocolate commercial. I think it’s a testament to the Hershey’s brand ability to remain timeless, in finding current and contemporary music to appear alongside their products. I do believe that I should be getting a monthly stipend of chocolate.
What is your songwriting process like? Do you sit down to write or do songs just come to you?
My music making process comes about naturally. Most of the time inspiration will just hit me out of nowhere and that’s when I jump on. Often, I find that I need to let out emotions from experiences.
Speaking of “Upside”, who designed the album artwork for that single?
Alex Valentina, as with each of the artworks for the 3 Days, 2 Nights EP. Check him out!
What headphones are around your neck?
Sennheiser HD 650s! Not the most expensive headphones for music production/recording out, but they do the trick.
Wait… Is that you leaning on a Cybertruck? Or just a sweet custom vehicle for the video shoot?
Just a sweet custom vehicle for the shoot!
What can fans expect from a live performance? I bet it’s loud… And do you get nervous on stage?
Live performance energy and atmospheres breathe life into every fibre of my being. It inspires me to continue to create new music, longing for the day that I am back on stage hearing the roars of the audience and lyrics of songs being chanted right back at me. No nerves, so long as I feel prepared.
I know you are dropping an EP, but what’s next for PLS&TY?
I’m taking it one day at a time. More live shows, more music, and more lifelong memories.
Thanks for doing this, man. Could talk to you all day… In all the interviews I do I always give the artist the last word. Go.
TYSM. Without your support, the 3 Days, 2 Nights project would not exist. I hope to see you all very soon, and in the meantime, Mind Your Manners.
