Thomas Gold remixes Miike Snow’s “The Wave”

Today, Axtone Records releases the Thomas Gold remix of The Wave – a standout track from Miike Snow’s critically acclaimed new album “Happy To You” and featured on Thomas Gold’s debut Axtone Mix compilation, “Axtone Presents Thomas Gold”. The release came out back on May 28.

It’s been an amazing year thus far for Miike Snow as they completely sold out their Happy To You USA tour and look to follow up an amazing performance at Coachella (they played to a record-breaking crowd of over 45,000, headlining Stage 2 on Saturday) with European dates including sold out UK shows at London’s Brixton Academy & Manchester Ritz – their largest UK shows to date.

Miike Snow has crossed over to the dance world with a high profile remix of Devil’s Work from Dirty South that recently spent a week at #1 on Beatport. With Thomas Gold’s latest record “Sing2Me” going all the way to Beatport #1, Thomas returns on Axtone to deliver a stadium sized re-work of Miike Snow’s The Wave. While the original provides a melancholic soundscape built around a rolling military snare and crisp piano, Thomas Gold plants them alongside the vocal line and fat synths; building to an epic melody fueled banger.

Gold is rapidly rising through the dance world thanks to smashes including Marsch Marsch (Toolroom) and Alive and Eyes Wide Open in collaboration with Dirty South (Phazing). However it was AGORa with Steve Angello on Size that helped cement his status as a world-class producer. It wasn’t long before he was counting DJs as varied as Tiësto, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Laidback Luke, and Swedish House Mafia as fans of his productions.

Then there’s Thomas’ remixes – all heavy duty reworks of tracks from some of dance and pop music’s biggest stars. Thomas’ first major remix was Fatboy Slim’s  Star 69 which had instant impact, then he went onto re-rub two of pop music’s biggest female talents with Lady Gaga’s Judas and Adele Set Fire To The Rain, the latter of which currently boasts over 15 million views on YouTube.

The next chapter in the Gold remix book comes via his brand new remix of Swedish indie pop legends Miike Snow The Wave.
