Kaskade CRUSHES with Fire & Ice

Kaskade CRUSHES with Fire & IceEvery year I sit down, usually in the middle of December, and write down a list of the best albums of the year. I used to include all genres in said list, and would release a single blog post of my favorite albums of the year. Last year, since I listen to so many albums by so many artists that cover all genres, I decided to break them apart and write my top 5 in several genres. I plan on doing the same this year. I will write a list for rock, pop, country, electronic dance music… you get the idea. Because I wait until the end of the year to write these blogs, I am always listening to new work and trying to pick my favorite releases of the year. Well… I fond one for the electronic dance music category.

This album isn’t even out yet (comes out November 8, 2011) but I got the chance to hear it early. This album is going to be SO hot. I can’t even begin to tell you how great this release is. I am talking about “Fire & Ice” from Kaskade. I actually had the chance to see Kaskade play earlier this year on Identity Festival, and he did a few of the tracks on this album here in Indy.

The album has 21 tracks on it, and features a TON of big names. Some of the names appearing include Mindy Gledhill, Marcus Bently, Haley, Quadron, Dada Life, Inpetto, Skylar Grey, Skrillex, and Neon Trees. (The Neon Trees track is my favorite, by the way.) I just love the way the album progresses from one song to the next and has the ability to literally get me out of my seat and dancing in the middle of the room. The bass is heavy, and the beats are plenty. This might be one of the best albums I have ever heard, and is hands down his best work yet.

Kaskade – “Fire & Ice” Tracklising

Below is a complete tracklisting of “Fire & Ice”. I also included each artist that is featured on each track so you can see a little bit more about who he is working with. A lot of these songs repeat on the album, but they are all remixes… so while Eyes is on the album three times, it’s three totally different songs. It never seems that you are listening to the same tracks over and over again.

Kaskade “Fire & Ice” Album Promotional Video

Check out a video I found on YouTube. This is a promotional video for “Fire & Ice”. This video takes you into the studio and explains where some of the inspiration for these tracks came from. (I especially like hearing from Kaskade as he talks about the release. You see these guys on stage night after night, but never get the chance to hear them up close and personal.)
