Widely acclaimed techno pioneer Nicole Moudaber has announced the release of her Adoption EP, a two-track production on her own Mood Records label available exclusively on Beatport on September 21 and for wide distribution on October 5. The forthcoming release sees the dynamic producer tackle two tracks from one of the most important innovators of dance music since the 90s, Moby.
Premiering “Mere Anarchy” off the collaborative EP via Billboard, Nicole Moudaber offers a heavy and grinding feel on her remix of the original which is taken from his 2018 album Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt. Packing the mix with haunting melodies, the track also incorporates subtle use of orchestral sounds, adding a hypnotic feel to the release. On the second track, Nicole Moudaber goes on-to spin a uniquely dark and twisted rework of “Like a Motherless Child,” pitching down Moby’s vocals to create a deep demonic sound.
Nicole Moudaber’s Mood Records has served as a home for an array of the most intriguing productions of recent times since launching five years ago. The iconic label has previously hosted top names in underground dance music such as Jamie Jones, PanPot, Carl Craig and Carl Cox, who she recently collaborated with for her milestone 50th release on the imprint.
With a stellar summer tour coming to a close, the talented producer has been in high demand throughout Asia, North America and Europe these last few months. Summer highlights have included her annual “Mood on the Hudson” summer boat party in New York back in June, her epic set at Tomorrowland as well as stops at Circoloco at DC10 in Ibiza for Paradise and Resistance at Ultra Korea, Japan, Taipei, and Mexico.
MoodZONE, Nicole’s own brand of festival stages, continues its expansion as Nicole prepares to host Hito, Lauren Lane, Paco Osuna, Pan-Pot, Patrick Topping and more at EDC Orlando on November 9. Nicole then prepares to head to New York for MoodRAW, her series of warehouse events, at Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner on November 10 as she goes back-to-back with Paco Osuna and Dubfire, plus support from Hito.
