Following her stand out singles “BADBOI” and “FOLLY OF THE BEAST” – BRUX is pleased to share her BADBOI EP in full; including a new single and two remixes. The self released techno club EP has been a cathartic project for BRUX, as she continues to carve a space for herself in the scene.
The new track “VINEGAR HILL” is gritty and dark, and was written to empower BRUX to make her presence known. It’s aggressive, experimental and loud, and has echoing lyrics to match that energy. The rest of the EP is composed of previously released singles “BADBOI” and “FOLLY OF THE BEAST”, with new accompanying remixes of each. The EP in its entirety is meant for dark dancefloors and underground clubs.
On the EP’s genesis, BRUX explains; “This EP encapsulates an unbridled force of energy that started to foster in 2020. It marks a time in my creative output where I couldn’t unleash this energy in a physical space with an audience and so came about these lively songs that each have their own story… The 2 remixes are by artists I admire, and I am also currently collaborating with – Chambray and Taut. I’ve been a fan of Chambray for many years – since his 2016 Reliev LP. Taut is the alias of local New Yorker Jacob Bergson (now resides in Berlin) who I met through my collaborations with Kimbra – Jacob performs in her live show as synth player. I plan to move onto another club EP after this one, this release has stoked the fire in me…”
BRUX’s singles “BADBOI” and “FOLLY OF THE BEAST” have already received praise and support from Busy P, KiNK, Boys Noize and Richie Hawtin. Her gritty club music productions reveal another layer to the BRUX project, as it was only recently that she started showing the face behind her once anonymous artist project. In the past few months, BRUX has played supporting sets for artists including deadmau5, Noizu, Nero, Flying Lotus and Toro Y Moi at The Brooklyn Mirage, as well as Zeds Dead at Red Rocks Amphitheatre; these co-signs signify strong stamps of approval from industry luminaries.
A Brooklyn-by-way-of-Sydney based artist, BRUX has a DIY approach to all aspects of her artist project. She styles her own shoots, creates her own merch, directs her own artwork, etc. Additionally, recent support from the web3 collectors of her BRUX NFT collection on Sound.xyz has allowed her to self fund this single and forthcoming EP. And recently the Pat Lok remix of her release “Take” is featured on the EA SPORTS F1® 22 game soundtrack.
With past releases on Dim Mak and Deadbeats, BRUX continues to break down barriers in dance music with her eclectic sound and style. Drawing inspiration from acts like The Chemicals Brothers, The Knife, Björk and Joni Mitchell, her cheeky and loud electronica sound comes from a place of frustration. Overall the BRUX sound is quirky, raw and unapologetic – the music makes an intentional and loud statement in the scene.

About BRUX:
The realm of BRUX awaits. A raw and vivid ride into a visionary mind. With an analog punch of surrealist club-pop you’re in a space between genres, a place to explore fate, materialism and the pursuit of pleasure…
BRUX has silently entered the world’s collective psyche. After the release of her dark debut single “I’m Back” in 2018 on Dim Mak Records, BRUX’s name immediately seemed to be everywhere. Her first few months took her across continents, performing debut shows in Los Angeles, Sydney and Berlin, with opening support by artists from Fool’s Gold, Future Classic, OWSLA and Motorik. Later that year she appeared as a participant at the prestiged Red Bull Music Academy in Berlin. Her first three releases were lauded by Complex, Mixmag and Pop Matters, praising her fusion of analogue synths with otherworldly vocals. In her home of Australia, she has recorded exclusive mixes for Triple J and FBI Radio, was handpicked by Triple J for her festival debut at FOMO Sydney, and has embarked on and planned multiple national tours.
2020 cemented BRUX’s place in the sphere of dance music, with her debut Fruit EP being celebrated as an emerging artist to watch by Billboard, Rolling Stone and DJ Times and receiving rotation on Triple J. With recent songwriting and production cuts alongside Cassian, Bag Raiders, Max Styler, LA Riots, Matroda and Clams Casino for labels including Future Classic, Toolroom Records and RUFUS’s Rose Avenue imprint; and official remixes for Tokimonsta, PNAU, The Kite String Tangle and Pat Lok; BRUX is making her mark on the worlds of pop and dark electronica alike. A champion of progressive opportunities and spaces in the music industry, BRUX frequently collaborates with fellow female luminaries including recent productions for Kimbra, Sparrows, The Dawn Of May, Jordi Up Late and more.
Her most recent EP Take featuring singles “Covet”, “Take” feat. Kimbra and Step Down have dropped on Deadbeats Records, with praise from Billboard US and Dancing Astronaut. Hailing in the creation of her own newly-created genre; she bridges the gap between pop songwriting and dark club music with collaborations including Grammy award-winning artist Kimbra, Joe Goddard and Cobrah. Her sell-out success in web3 so far has gained notoriety in the space, releasing rare and exciting NFT collections in the form of digital art, generative music and audio NFTs on Mirror, Catalog, Glass and Sound.xyz. With a daring club EP and significant NFT collection on the horizon BRUX is set to take off and claim her spot as a producer and artist heavyweight.
