Imavex Christmas Party 2008

It’s that time of year again. The weather has turned cold, the leaves have all fallen, and the traffic has increased to consistent frustration. It is Christmas time again. And this is the time of the year that everyone is going to Christmas parties and gallivanting around with their employees. This is just something, until this year, that I had only read about and had see on TV. But this year I was able to experience my first ever office Christmas party. I had been getting excited about this for quite some time.

I asked Katie to be my date for the party and was looking forward to having her meet my boss and some other people in the office that I talk to on a daily basis. Besides the fact that she was late (and I will not blame her because it was her hair dressers fault) we made it just in time for the dinner portion of the evening. And the dinner was incredible. I had ceaser salad, a flavored chicken breast, and a couple of different kinds of pasta. I threw a bread stick on there it made for a perfect dinner. I actually enjoyed it so much I had seconds.

And just after dinner we were instructed to look under our seats to see if we won a prize. And Katie got a ticket. We won the movie Elf and I am not sure I had been more excited about a present in a long time. And then shortly after that there was a drawing for the number of M&M’s in a jar. I guessed 312, which is the exact number that Nash’s wife guessed. Braden won, however, only being ten off the actual number in the jar.

After that we had an Imavex quiz that was questions on the official start date to the location of the third office to the names of all the owners children. Katie and I scored a 15, which I was pretty happy with until the winner had a 34. Her prize was a digital camera so the only rule is that she has to take a picture of me on it!

And shortly after that we had to leave because Katie had her Christmas party that night as well. She works for AIT Laboratories and her party was over by the airport. So we went over to that and had an absolute blast at hers too. We had another dinner (no way I could finish all of that one though) and then danced to some cheesy high school prom slow songs. It was really fun.

I just wanted to write to let everyone know that I have experienced not only one office Christmas party this year, but two. I had a great night and it was exactly what I had expected it to be. I am thankful for the way that my year has turned out. I had a rough patch there in the middle of the year and got to about as low as I thought I have ever been but I have managed to come back. I just let it up to God and he has put me in the right direction. I am happier now that I have ever been and I have nothing but graciousness to everyone that has been there along the way.
