On May 28, Axtone Records released the debut mix compilation from superstar DJ, producer and remixer Thomas Gold. Entitled “Axtone Presents Thomas Gold”, it’s all about Thomas Gold and his superior talents. For his mix, Thomas created cutting edge tracks from some of his favorite producers and combined them with his own special edits, remixes and original tracks; many of which you simply cannot hear anywhere else. It’s pure class and exactly what you’d expect from Thomas Gold – another superior release from Axwell’s beloved label.
Thomas Gold is rapidly rising through the dance world thanks to smashes including Marsch Marsch (Toolroom) and Alive and Eyes Wide Open in collaboration with Dirty South (Phazing). However it was AGORa with Steve Angello on Size that helped cement his status as a world-class producer. It wasn’t long before he was counting DJs as varied as Tiësto, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Laidback Luke, and of course, Swedish House Mafia as fans of his productions. Thomas’ newest track, Sing2Me, (Axtone) is a bona fide smash and it went straight to Beatport’s Number 1 spot on release.
Then there’s Thomas’ remixes – all heavy duty reworks of tracks from some of dance and pop music’s biggest stars. Thomas’ first major remix was Fatboy Slim’s Star 69 which had instant impact, then he went onto re-rub two of pop music’s biggest female talents with Lady Gaga’s Judas and Adele Set Fire To The Rain, the latter of which currently boasts over 13 million views on YouTube. The next chapter in the Thomas Gold’s remix book comes via his brand new remix of Swedish indie pop legends Miike Snow The Wave. Check it out here.
Given his impeccable track record it’s no surprise that Axwell invited Thomas Gold to present the first in a new compilation series on his respected imprint. With Thomas given carte blanche on the track list he went all out to present his fans with a must-own compilation. It features Thomas’ own original tracks Fanfare, The Beginning and Circles plus tracks from some of dance music premier house producers including Moguai, Dirty South, Hard Rock Sofa, Michael Calfan, Henrik B, Adrian Lux, Norman Doray, Sander Van Doorn, Steve Aoki, Digitalism, David Guetta and Afrojack.
