We like to travel, and I like to swim. When I saw an article about the Marina Bay Sands hotel, I was ready to book a room. First off, the hotel is huge and has a pretty slick design. Then I saw how much it cost. The Las Vegas Sands Corporation spent $5 billion on this hotel! The hotel has 2,560 rooms, three 55-story towers and a 150-meter infinity pool. The infinity pool is what inspired this blog post.
The Marina Bay Sands hotel is located in Singapore, and was designed to drive tourism, business, and entertainment to Asia. Oh, I forgot to mention… The hotel also has an indoor canal, a museum shaped like a lotus flower and a shopping mall! It also has a casino. You could spend an entire week here and not see everything! The building was designed by architect Moshe Safie. “Our challenge was to create a virtual public palace at the district-urban scale, in other words, to address the issue of mega scale and invent an urban landscape that would work at the human scale.”
Just look at these pictures. This place is incredible!!!
I approve of the pool. Too bad it’s so far away.
That looks sick, right? I might travel to Marina Bay Sands just to see/swim in this pool.
Up until a year ago all you need to do to enter the infinity pool was to show a hotel keycard which could be obtained from someone stayed there. So the pool was semi-public and it made the pool very crowded. Lately, they require more to prove that you are a guest.
If you really want to enjoy the pool go there early morning just at the time pool is opened.
Thanks for the comment. That is good to know. I am sure it is expensive to stay there, but it might be worth it for a lap in that pool!
It is expensive to stay there but for one time it may worth. The hotel is the largest in Singapore (it has twice more room than the second largest) and is quite crowded indeed. If it was not for SkyPark no point to stay there.
