If you haven’t heard of Raiden, you soon will. The Korean-born DJ and producer has been amassing a healthy reputation as an artist whose star is on the rise. He has collaborated recently with Fedde Le Grand on their song “Hit the Club” and followed that up with his latest smash, “Light Me Up” with Matisse & Sadko.
Nothing short of an anthem, “Light Me Up” is a goose bump inducing mega-hit that is garnering support from radio and tastemakers alike. The festival crowds at Ultra Korea, Ultra Europe and Tomorrowland have experienced the power of this one firsthand, and their reactions seem to glean the future on what this song is about the become. Early supporters of “Light Me Up” include Martin Garrix, Tiësto and Nicky Romero, who’s label Protocol Recordings, also released the single.
“Light Me Up” will be one of the standout records of 2018, no doubt about it.
Raiden has performed at many of the world’s most iconic festivals and has established his place among his superstar peers. His supporters read like a who’s who of commercial dance music alums and include folks like Steve Angello, David Guetta and Zedd, to name a few.
The trendsetting DJ came to a global audience when he closed the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Pyeongchang this year with Martin Garrix. With his incredible guitar virtuosity and his master-class in performance, Raiden’s course for success was assured as soon as his set finished.

Raiden is a musician first and foremost, having been formally trained at the prestigious conservatory of music in Japan. Like many successful DJs, he started out playing in a rock band until he was touched by electronic music.
“I’ve played guitar since I was young, and I decided to study at music conservatory in Japan. When I was there, I set up and played in a rock band, but we had to break up when I moved back to Korea. Eventually, when I was back in Korea, I saw a DJ playing at this club and I thought it was super interesting because he could play all this music alone rather than with a band, which I really wasn’t used to! Honestly though, I think that even when I was doing the rock thing, I was still interested and influenced by electronic music, so it felt like a natural progression when I started making and playing electronic music.”
With so much support and talent, the future is indeed bright for Raiden.
“Light Me Up” will debut on BetaBPM with Liquid Todd today, July 31, on SiriusXM CH 51 at 10:00 pm EST.
