Catch Juuku on tour this winter (dates below)
Hotly tipped as one of the most promising names on the electronic music scene, DJ/producer/multimedia artist Juuku kicks off 2023 by announcing he’s signed to Dim Mak Records. This new partnership will yield the incredible Lavender Dreams and Scarlett Nightmares EP which is set for release this spring. The first sample of what’s to come arrives via the EP’s first single, “Moonlight (feat. Gianni Taylor)”, available on January 27.
Fans will have the opportunity to experience Juuku’s much-talked-about live set (in addition to curating the music, the artist creates all visuals) when he joins Steve Aoki for select dates on the Dim Mak honcho’s HiROQUEST: Genesis tour this winter. No doubt Juuku’s performances will be packed with music from the EP and you don’t want to miss it!
First things first, “Moonlight” is an instant smash, showcasing Juuku’s impressive sound design and electrifying energy alongside Gianni Taylor’s stunning vocals. “This song to me represents capturing a beautiful moment of energy at night – one of the very first moments I was introduced to electronic music live. The energy, the people around me, and the type of world that I was brought into, and how magical it felt during that very first time,” Juuku says.
Juuku adds, “This EP – Lavender Dreams and Scarlett Nightmares – represent the two sides of the spectrum that encompass the universe I’m building as Juuku. I have synesthesia, which in my case I can see colors when I listen to music, and especially when I create it. it’s either in the tone of purple (lavender) or in the tone of red (scarlett). These two colors represent the two different colors that my music encompasses. And this EP is the gateway to this universe I call my own.”
“Excited to welcome juuku to the Dim Mak roster. And hyped he’s joining me on my “HIROQUEST: Genesis” tour – His cinematic and melodic sound will be a great new addition to the shows!” – Steve Aoki
“Juuku is a prolific producer, his soundscape is a movie. He can visualize his music and execute it on his own creatively by producing his own content, and what is extra special is that he’s coming from a real place as he uses both his music and visuals as an avenue to communicate his emotions. As we push forward into a new era of Dim Mak, this is a perfect collaboration between all of us,” said Bryan Linares, Brand & Biz Dev Director, Dim Mak.
The story so far – Juuku has gained a significant following with his high-energy sets and genre-blending productions. His tracks “Frozen”, “Warmth”, and “Late Hour” have each garnered over 900,000 streams on Spotify alone, and he has previously collaborated with artists such as Yetep, Manila Killa, McCall, Rossy, Natalie 2V, Covex, Bafu, and Squired.
In addition to performing at major music festivals like EDC Orlando and Lost in Dreams, Juuku has played at shows such as the Slow Magic: 10 Year Anniversary Tour, a performance of his single “Just Lost” with Manila Killa at HARD Summer, a Brownies & Lemonade performance opening for Apashe, and notable individual shows in Austin, Houston, Texas, and NYC. He also played a support set for Rossy’s sold-out Brownies & Lemonade set at The Moroccan Lounge and opened for Yetep at the Academy LA.
