Fitbit motivation. Google innovation.
For years, I’ve relied on my Fitbit to track my steps, miles, and sleep. My initial goal was 10,000 steps daily, which I later increased to 10,500. After reading Ed Mylett’s “The Power of One More: The Ultimate Guide to Happiness and Success,” I decided to push myself further by setting the goal to 10,501 steps. When I reached my goal for 365 consecutive days, we celebrated with a fresh pint at La Quinta Brewing Co. We did the same when I hit 1,000 days in a row.
Unfortunately, after 1,021 days of consistently meeting my goal, my Fitbit suddenly stopped working. Fitbit’s support was disappointing; they offered a discount on a new device, but I was more concerned about my streak than the gadget itself. I explored other options, including the Apple Watch, but nothing quite matched my Fitbit experience. So, after some consideration, I decided to purchase the charge 6.
It arrived yesterday, and after charging it to 100%, I set it up last night. Today, I went for a walk and hit my steps goal! Although the streak may have ended, a new one starts today. As they say, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, but the second-best time is now.
Here’s to tracking more steps, miles, and sleep as I embark on this new journey! Wish me luck!
