Boasting his ability to traverse all genres, the Snavs EP includes future bass, melodic techno, pop, and house sounds blended in a cohesive and fun way.
In his own words, Snavs adds: “The idea with my Nemesis EP was to do a collection of five songs in collaboration with creative and inspiring people, and that way push my sound to new places. Discovering how electronic dance music could be done with people coming from other genres and in this case mainly pop writers. Nemesis is my take on how pop songs could sound like and I’m thankful for being able to work together with all these great vocalists, topliners and fellow producers.”

What inspired you to start making music, and how did you develop your unique sound? Can you share the story behind your stage name, Snavs?
Back in high school I cracked logic in a boring mathematics class created a tune and uploaded it to SoundCloud and just came up with the name. I’ve been listening to bass music for years and just started producing DIY style I guess that helped me to find my own sound.
Congratulations on the release of your new EP Nemesis out now on Dim Mak! Could you tell us more about the inspiration behind this project and what listeners can expect from the tracks on this EP?
I’ve been working with a lot of musicians and artists from other parts of the music scene, and tried to combine our different soundscapes and universes to create 5 electronic pop songs.
There are 5 songs on the EP. How did you decide to include these particular tracks, and were there any other songs you considered adding to this release?
In close collaboration with the label I tried to challenge myself to create pop songs, and these five particular songs really connected.
You collaborated with artists like Jack Dawson, John Alto, and Karl Boëthius on the Nemesis EP. How did these collaborations come about, and what was it like working with them?
I’ve known all these collaborators for years from festivals, sessions, parties, shows, etc.
I really love the album cover! Can you tell me more about what inspired the design and why you chose such a colorful and melodic aesthetic?
I thought it suited the vibe pretty nicely.
How did growing up in Copenhagen influence your music style?
I think the changing weather here in Denmark made me create different vibes, some dark melancholic stuff and some more happy and uplifting.
Can you walk us through your creative process when producing a track? How do you begin, and what steps do you take to finalize a song?
Sometimes it starts with a topline but mainly it starts with a weird voice note I’ve recorded on my phone, me singing a melody or a beat or something, and I go from there.
What role does technology play in your music production, and are there any particular tools or software that you can’t live without?
Logic and a lot of plugins. I wouldn’t say there is a specific plugin I couldn’t live without, it’s a combination of a lot of different plugins, always working with new plugins and instruments.
What role does social media play in promoting your music and engaging with your audience?
I try not to care about social media and focus on my music instead.
What are some of your biggest musical influences?
Flume at the moment.
Your Instagram showcases a lot of your live performances. How do you feel social media has impacted your connection with fans?
I think I really connect with my fans when I travel and play live.
What role do visuals play in your live performances, and how do you integrate them with your music?
I’ve created some visuals on my own. It has never been super important as giving the crowd a musical experience always has been my focus.
How do you prepare for a live set, and do you have any pre-show rituals?
I prepare every show with creating edits, flips, new ideas, remixes and mashups. I’ve never played to similar sets.
What advice would you give to aspiring producers and DJs who want to create a distinctive and diverse sound like yours?
10.000 hours
Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or collaborations you’re excited about?
