No stranger to star-studded alliances, Italian GRAMMY-nominated DJ and Multi-Platinum producer Gabry Ponte teams up with 5x World Speedway Champion and electrifying DJ/Producer Tai Woffinden for an exhilarating collaboration with new single “Body” featuring Yasmin Jane on vocals.

Body

Echoing the pull of infatuation and the inescapable need to be around someone, “Body” is a full-force, vocal-infused mainstage banger intent on global dance floor destruction. Opening with a menacing rolling start, the infectious rhythms of “Body” build into a pulsating beat that merge with Yasmin Jane’s distorted topline, splitting synapses with a rush of endorphins primed for dancefloors.

A stalwart of the electronic scene, Gabry Ponte infuses his signature sound with Tai Woffinden’s burgeoning talents to craft something excitingly raw and rich with mania-inducing energy that will see “Body” become an inescapable mainstage favourite.

Gabry Ponte is one of electronic music’s most influential producers, having had a career spanning three decades. His debut production as part of the group Eiffel 65 was “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” – the global smash that would sell over 8 million copies and top world charts. Tracks such as “Thunder” and “Monster,” both Diamond records in France, with LUM!X have amassed over 560 million and 327 million Spotify streams, respectively. At the same time, the collaboration with Timmy Trumpet, “Mad World,” has collected over 168 million Spotify streams. Still riding high off the wave of his recent “Mockingbird” collaboration with Tiësto and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, which secured global hype across charts and radio, Gabry is looking to further success with the new single “Body.”

Regarding the track, Gabry said, “This fast-paced techno track always fires up the crowd. The amazing vocal is hypnotic, accompanies the crazy melody, and creates a special moment in every live show!”

Tai Woffinden, known for his adrenaline-fueled performances at the speedway and behind the decks, makes a stellar debut on Armada Music with this collaboration, showcasing his prowess in the music world.

With a string of releases already under his belt, such as his recent single “ALIVE” on German label CHAPTER EIGHT, the speedway maestro turned music maverick is a man of many talents, fuelled by a passion for the joy of creating long standing memories, whether via the roar of the racetrack or the dancefloor.

After graduating from Tileyard Studios, singer/songwriter Yasmin Jane has been forging her indemnity within music for the past few years. With a sound influenced by electro-pop and indie, Yasmin has seen her music signed with established labels that include Ninja Tunes, Effective Records, New State Music, and Soave Records.

Following its world premiere on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance World radio show, broadcasting to 40 million listeners, “Body” is now available exclusively via Armada Music.

DJ, producer, and five-time world champion speedway racer

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Tai Woffinden, a multifaceted artist who wears many hats—DJ, producer, and five-time world champion speedway racer. Tai’s unique ability to balance the thrill of speedway racing with the creative demands of music production has made him a standout in both fields. His high-energy performances and genre-blending sound have gained him recognition on the electronic music scene, and his journey is nothing short of inspiring.

Tai teams up with GRAMMY-nominated producer Gabry Ponte, renowned for his work with Eiffel 65, on their electrifying new single “Body.” Featuring the powerful vocals of Yasmin Jane, this mainstage anthem is set to make waves on the iconic Armada Music label. In this exclusive interview, we delved into his exciting collaboration, uncovered insights into his creative process, and discussed what’s coming next for this dynamic artist. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Tai Woffinden. Let’s go!!!

How did your background as a world champion speedway racer influence your transition into the music industry, and how does that unique experience shape your approach to DJing and producing?
How did it influence is a good question. I guess, my racing success got me backstage when FISHER was headlining in Perth, Western Australia, and watching him perform live inspired me to start this crossover into music as he had come from a background as a pro surfer. Right now, I’m having a ball with it and long may it continue.

How do you balance your career in speedway racing with your growing presence in the music industry? Do you find any parallels between the two worlds?
For now, they’re working hand in hand and neither one is taking anything away from the other but who knows what’s next, just gonna’ keep on that grind…

Can you share the creative process behind your collaboration with Gabry Ponte and Yasmin Jane on the track “Body?” What was it like working with such renowned artists?
It was honestly super simple. My A&R sent me Yasmine’s vocal and I could hear something in it so I got a little demo locked down and sent it off to Garbry’s team. 48 hours later they got back saying they loved it and wanted to work on it. After some back and forth, the track was complete and ready for Armada to sign seal and deliver.

How does it feel to have “Body” premiered by Armin van Buuren on A State Of Trance, and what do you hope listeners get from it?
Ahh man I was blown away with this being my first big release and it was amazing to have such a icon as Armin supporting it. Honestly I want people to enjoy it and have fun whether that’s in the car, gym, club, or festival, just be happy.

Your Instagram is filled with a mix of your racing career, DJing, and personal life—how do you decide what to share with your followers?
Yes, I try to keep it nice and mixed I’m still at the top of my game with racing and a large number of my following are race fans. Stuff with Faye (my wife) and the kids always goes down well but I try not to put too much on as I do like to keep some aspects of our life private and the music posts will be more and more as I gather content. Tune in, it’s gonna be fun!

You’ve achieved so much in your career. What motivates you to keep pushing the limits in both speedway racing and your other ventures?
I was taking about this only yesterday. In 2001 I was a black belt in martial art at 11 years old, after that I focused on racing and I have achieved everything there is to achieve in my given discipline and I think it’s a mindset thing. I’m very driven in everything that I do. I always want more. I never settle for less and if I want something I work out how to do it or get it.

Your racing team includes key members like Ashley Holloway and Peter Adams. How important is teamwork in a sport that’s often seen as highly individualistic?
There has to be a good team behind you in whatever you do. Each member of the team has their own key roles and as long as everyone does there job correct the sky’s the limit.

You have quite a few tattoos! I’ve seen you referred to as ‘The Painted Man.’ How many tattoos do you have? Do you remember your first one, and are you planning to add more ink?
Honestly I don’t know how many I have! They’ve just become one big one! The first one was a Metal Mulisha skull on my shoulder blade when I was 15, my younger moto inspired days. I’m not planning any right now but always happy to go have some more pain with the boys if I get the call.

Your journey from being the youngest rider in the British Championship Final to a five-time world champion is inspiring. What advice would you give to young riders aspiring to follow in your footsteps?
If you truly want something go and get it and don’t let anyone take you off that track. Go get it.

You work with several key sponsors, including Monster Energy, Oakley, SHOEI, and more. How did you establish these partnerships, and in what ways do these brands support you both on and off the track?
They all have there own story but I can say networking is key. Monster Energy is a huge brand to work with and I love every minute of it, whether that’s at the track, at some sort of activation event, we just had a huge party on the rooftop terrace of the Hilton Hotel at Silverstone F1. The company and the people that work for the company are just all legends. Oakley also very similar vibe but different brand. I wear Oakley to protect my eyes when racing speedway, in my free time riding MX also when I’m skiing in the French Alps and I always have a pair of sunnies or two at hand.

Can you tell us about a specific song or album that has had a significant impact on you? How does it resonate with your personal or professional journey?
Back in the day when we was 15 having all night raves loading up Skitzmix CDs this was the start of my love for dance music and I have used it in many different forms since then.

If you could collaborate with any musician or band, who would it be and why? What kind of project would you envision?
Well I’m definitely not gonna lock myself in a genre box, I’m going to be open format, but moving forward I think I’ll be looking at Timmy Trumpet, or Ben Nicky, but in this day and age who actually knows, doors open and close all his time but I’ll be pushing hard from my end

How do you discover new music? Are there any specific platforms, podcasts, or influencers you follow to keep up with the latest trends?
Mainly socials and a few mates that just DM each other belters when they pop up then like most others emails, SoundCloud, 1001Tracklists.

Are there any upcoming concerts or festivals that you’re particularly excited to attend or perform at? What makes them stand out for you?
Right now, I don’t have anything locked in. I will got to ADE this year then return to Australia for the summer and we will see what’s what.

Speaking of seeing you perform, what can fans expect from your shows? It looks like you’re having the time of your life up there—how do you bring that intensity to the stage?
High energy mainstage set. I love performing on the stage I thrive in them situations. I just love it, how can you not be happy?… And how do I bring it? I don’t know just enjoying life and it’s moments.

Given your diverse background, what advice would you give to others who are looking to explore multiple passions and industries? How do you balance these different creative outlets?
Again we touched on this before, if you want it go fucking get it… You will be your only limitation. Don’t set one large goal, they’re hard to achieve, but set lots of micro goals so you’re winning all the way through. This is a wicked little tool that will keep the head strong and happy.

Looking forward, are there any other collaborations or projects in the pipeline that fans should be excited about? How do you see your music career evolving in the coming years?
Yes, October straight after ADE I have “FEELING SUPER NAUGHTY” out on armada with CERES on vocals excited for this high energy track to go live. After that, a collar with Luke Bond with some beautiful vocals, a naughty little trance banger.

Then some more in the pipe lines but not fully finished so will keep them to myself until we’re fully locked in.

Thanks for doing this, man. I really enjoyed our time together. In all of the interviews I do I always give the artist the last word. Go.
I’m just getting started in this journey make sure your strapped in because its gonna be one hell of a ride, and I can’t wait!
