Luke Solomon’s revered imprint Classic Music Company celebrates the release of Tom Kerridge’s Girls Of The Internet project’s new album When I Was Lost, I Found Myself.

Following the acclaimed, self-released 2020 album Girls FM, When I Was Lost I Found Myself delves into a deeper and more personal journey for Tom. Spanning 12 blissed-out genre-blending house records and featuring stellar UK vocalists such as Sadie Walker, Allysha Joy, shiv (IE), ALLKNIGHT, Anelisa Lamola, and more, Tom continues to demonstrate his innate ability to nurture talent and collaborate on this latest LP.

The album title is loosely taken from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland via Star Trek Discovery. When things are hard, and you can’t find a way out, occasionally, you need to take a step back and things can become clear. Sometimes, when you’re feeling the most lost, you can find yourself.

A few years ago, I found myself in a hopeless situation. When I had nothing, nobody, and could not see a future for myself, I made ‘When U Go,’ and I realized my whole life could change just because Luke signed the track to Classic. I realized I made my own path from nothing – so this album is a full-circle moment for me. Coming back to the place that gave me meaning when I had none. – Tom Kerridge, Girls Of The Internet

Girls Of The Internet’s manifesto is clear: to create dance music that calls back to how it was made at its inception but with the knowledge and experience of the past 50 years of the genre. Describing the group as “joining the dots that have not been joined for a long time,” the live collective and Tom’s recordings output takes on people of all sexualities, gender expressions, and body types. “We are very proud to bring this music back to its inclusive roots. Let’s forget the disjointed and cliquey scene we live in and bring back what once united us,” founder Tom Kerridge explains.

Finding his musical home on the revered imprint Classic Music Company since the release of “When U Go” in 2017, Tom Kerridge’s Girls Of The Internet project has already seen considerable acclaim. Releasing alongside the likes of Honey Dijon, Floorplan, Seven Davis Jr., Isolée, and the mythical Spencer Kincy, aka Gemini, Tom has teased the album with a string of blissed-out singles, the final coming on July 26 “Shaken to My Soul,” featuring UK singer-songwriter Ruti. A sparkling record that demonstrates Girls Of The Internet at their ethereal best, Ruti’s soulful topline makes a perfect pairing for Tom’s lush production and instrumentation.

Back in 2017, Classic got to release the now seminal ‘When You Go.’ Almost 10 years later we have the privilege of releasing a full-length album from Girls Of The Internet. It’s been a joy to watch the band grow and blossom on completely their own terms, reaching almost cult status. Long live Girls Of The Internet.” – Luke Solomon, Classic Music Company founder

With heavy support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and BBC Introducing, Girls Of The Internet’s previous singles from the LP, in particular”Never Ever Ever” featuring Irish singer-songwriter shiv (which also saw a remix from legendary producer Henrik Schwarz), have seen the group go to new heights in recent months. Selected as BBC Music’ Introducing Track of the Week, both “Never Ever Ever” and the following garage-inspired “Gravity” featuring ALLKNIGHT have laid a road path full of anticipation for the full LP.

Along with the impressive recording output of Girls Of The Internet, the live aspect of the group brings the releases to life. As a DJ, Tom demonstrates his dynamic selections under the Girls Of The Internet alias, playing at iconic clubs and festivals such as Glastonbury’s NYC Downlow, The Warehouse Project’s Homobloc, Drumsheds, Printworks, Latitude, and Lost Village festival, as well as Ibiza shows at Pikes and Glitterbox at #1 Club in the World Hï. Also performing as a five-piece band, with Sophie Joy and Wynter Black on vocals, Tommy Peach on bass and trumpet, and Kaila Cooper on bass, guitar, keys, and vocals, the group’s recent sold-out Jazz Cafe show in March, as well as various festival and club appearances, adds a new layer to the Girls Of The Internet offering. Blending elements of house, soul, and electronica into a stunning live performance, Girls Of The Internet continue to bring their music to life with a busy touring schedule in 2024.
