It's A Vibe

Hailing from New Jersey, prominent DJ and producers Riggi & Piros are back with a moody Electro House track “It’s A Vibe” combining deep and groovy beats with a cheeky vocal loop. An undeniably catchy single, “It’s A Vibe” is simply that – just in time for summer.

Our new track is all about good vibes! We actually made this track in a NYC hotel room before a show, just vibing off each other’s energy and feeding off the hype we were going to get from the crowd that night. Our goal with this track was to make something you won’t stop dancing to. We hope we achieved that, & can’t wait to see how everyone vibes with it!

Following their reentry to Dim Mak with “Step Up” and “Body To The Beat” – “It’s A Vibe” is the latest addition to their arsenal of tracks on the label.

“It’s A Vibe” is out now on Dim Mak.

Congratulations on the release of your new hit single, “Body To The Beat”! What was your inspiration behind this track, and can you share any interesting stories from the recording process?
Hey there! Thanks for the love on “Body To The Beat”! The inspiration came from a wild night out where we saw how music connects people on the dance floor. During recording, we had a hilarious moment where James accidentally was designing a synth that sounded like a cat meowing. We kept it in the project as an inside joke!

Riggi & Piros are the stage names of Anthony Riggi and James Piros. How long did it take you to come up with the name Riggi & Piros? Did you consider any other names when you were getting started?
The name Riggi & Piros? It was surprisingly quick! We wanted something that represented both of us. We did toy with ‘P&R Sounds’ for a bit, but it didn’t have the same ring. Riggi & Piros just felt right.

What inspired you to start making music together? And does it ever get crowded in the DJ booth?
We started making music together because we realized we had the same taste in beats and vibes when we were super young. And yes, it can get pretty crowded in the DJ booth, especially when we’re both trying to drop the same track at the same time!

Can you walk me through your creative process when working on new music? Do you find that your ideas flow naturally, perhaps jotting down notes on a yellow pad, or do you sometimes get inspired in the most unexpected moments, like waking up in the middle of the night with a new melody in your head?
Our creative process is a mix of planned and spontaneous. Sometimes, ideas flow naturally, and we jot them down. Other times, inspiration strikes at odd moments – like Anthony waking up at 3 AM with a new melody. Our studio is filled with yellow pads covered in random notes!

Who are your biggest musical influences?
Our biggest musical influences? Definitely the likes of Avicii, Tiësto, and Daft Punk. Their music has shaped our sound and inspired us to push boundaries.

You have performed at some major music festivals, including EDC and Ultra Music Festival. Do you prefer playing at large festivals or smaller gigs with a more intimate crowd? What are the unique aspects you enjoy about each type of performance?
Performing at EDC and Ultra is electrifying with the massive crowds and energy. But we also love smaller gigs for the close connection with the audience. Each has its unique vibe – festivals are like a giant party, while smaller gigs feel like a family/friends rager.

You’ve released music on several notable labels, including Armada Music, Dim Mak, and Spinnin’ Records. What has your experience been like working with these major labels? Do you usually reach out to them, or do they approach you based on your previous work?
We’ve worked with so many labels throughout our time as producers and have had such a great and unique experience with each! It’s a mix of us reaching out with new tracks and them approaching us based on our past releases. It’s all about mutual respect and collaboration and with that being said we have nothing but respect for the hard work they do.

Can you share a memorable experience from performing live?
One of our most memorable performances was when the power went out mid-set at a show. Instead of panicking, we started an impromptu acoustic session with the crowd singing along. It turned into a magical moment.

Can you share a memorable experience from performing live? Also, are you hitting the road this summer in support of your new single, or are you in the studio working on your next release?
This summer, we’re splitting our time between hitting the road to support “Body To The Beat” and “It’s A Vibe” and working on new music in the studio. We love the balance of performing live and creating fresh tracks.

We all talk about work/life balance. As a DJ, how do you balance your personal life with your music career?
Balancing our personal lives with our music career can be challenging, but we make it work by setting aside time for family and friends. It’s all about prioritizing what’s important.

It seems like every DJ has a weekly podcast these days. Have you ever considered producing your own weekly show? You know I’d definitely subscribe!
We’ve definitely considered producing a weekly podcast. It’s on our radar, so stay tuned! We’d love to share more behind-the-scenes stories and exclusive tracks with you all.

Body To The Beat

Who designed the album cover for “Body To The Beat,” and where was that photo taken? Also, can you tell me who the girl on the cover is? Is she perhaps a random fan?
The album cover was designed by a talented artist at Dim Mak, and the photo of the girl was there design so you would have to ask them! We did have a clear vision for the artwork though so we laid it out for them.

What headphones are around your neck? And are you using something different in the studio than what you are using on stage?
Around our necks, we usually have our custom V-MODA headphones (shoutout!!). In the studio, I use so many points of reference that range from higher end studio headphones all the way down to old iPod headphones and everything in between. We prefer using beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO headphones for their sound accuracy but I also love using my DJ headphones for production as well!

You’ve teamed up with artists such as Deorro, DVBBS, and Borgeous. What factors influence your decision when choosing collaborators? Are there any upcoming collaborations we can look forward to this summer?
Choosing collaborators is all about chemistry and shared vision. We’ve had amazing experiences with so many insanely talented people, honestly too many to even name. This summer, you can look forward to some exciting new collaborations – but we’re keeping the details under wraps for now!

What’s next for Riggi & Piros? Can you give us a sneak peek into any upcoming projects or collaborations?
We’re diving into some genre-blending projects and exploring new sounds. Plus, we have cool shows lined up and more singles dropping soon. Keep an ear out – you won’t want to miss it!

Thanks for doing this, guys. I enjoyed that! In all of the interviews I do, I always give the artist the last word. Go.
Thank you for having us. It’s been a pleasure sharing our journey and thoughts with you all. To everyone tuning in, remember to always stay true to yourself, keep pushing boundaries! Your support means everything to us. Stay inspired!
