Adelaide Artist Avalon Kane Unveils Avant-Garde Electronic LP, “Solace”

Featuring Collaborations With Stu Patterson and inneralchemist

Innovative Australian avant-gardist Avalon Kane is thrilled to present her third album Solace.

Solace

Cultivating a soothingly ambient blend of soundscapes, the full breadth of the hypnotizing tracks that comprise the album unite to tell the tale of the collaborative vision of The Empty Threats’ Stu Patterson and Avalon Kane. The 11-track LP arrives in the footsteps of five lead singles, all of which are collaborations with Stu Patterson. Starting with “Medusa,” which garnered over 300,000 streams alone, the artists then followed up the first single with “Michael Sheen,” “Hole Song,” “Don’t Believe Anymore,” and “Killing Time.” Stu Patterson and Avalon Kane collaborated on a total of seven tracks on the album, with the remaining four tracks including a collaboration with inneralchemist.

Solace follows in the footsteps of Avalon Kane’s first two albums, 2020’s 222 and 2021’s Celestial Voyage, but this is her first large body of work created in tandem with Stu Patterson. Initially begun as a solo project, the album is the result of two years of Stu Patterson and Avalon Kane merging their sound together to create a body of work that is both introspective and ambient-driven. With the album, the pair continue to share the same mantra: embrace the present and transcend all limitations. Combining the transcendental electronic ambiance of Avalon Kane with Stu Patterson’s visceral and grounding compositional approaches, Solace presents a new and unique sonic landscape that transcends boundaries.

Solace is the first album of two. The first part of a whole.

There is beauty in both the light and dark spaces. They intertwine, collide and are present in everything we see and feel. Solace can be a place of calm, peace for some. For others, it will stir. Create unrest. It will make you feel present in your emotions. It will draw out what you need to feel. – Avalon Kane

Taking the first step on the beginning of the album’s journey, Avalon Kane and Stu Patterson’s “Align” starts the album off strong with a dreamy tale where a captivating saxophone melody winds its way through the ambient pillars of majesty. Following “Align” is a solo track, “Unseen,” which continues further on the same path, with dreamy tones and Kane’s haunting vocals weaving throughout. The next track, “Medusa,” adds new life to the album, with a more driven sound highlighted by passionate vocals. Following “Medusa,” the next song “Tracks” shifts from the encapsulating endless atmosphere of the previous tracks and utilizes catchy drums and vocals. “Dreamers,” the next track from Stu Patterson and Avalon Kane, retains the same energy and stays more upbeat. Breaking from the duo of Stu Patterson and Avalon Kane, the next track on the album is a collaboration between Avalon Kane and brand-new artist inneralchemist titled “Forest Kiwi.” The slightly more uptempo cut utilizes more of a house music energy to propel its energy. The second solo track of the album, “Vala,” also boasting Kane’s vocals, comes next, returning to the ambient and luxuriously captivating energy of the beginning of the album. “Rescue” brings back the duo of Stu Patterson and Avalon Kane, with Patterson’s vocals shining throughout. The last solo track on the album, “If I Could” follows, with a minimalistic sound that enriches the soul. Another of the singles, “Hole Song,” is the penultimate track, with eerie vocals and calming synths rounding it out. The final track on the album is the final collaboration between Stu Patterson and Avalon Kane, “Killing Time.” With punchy drums that periodically fade out to focus on the vocals, the track is a unique and inspired embrace of the duo’s combined sound.

With Solace, Avalon Kane has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the avant-garde electro sphere. With it being the first of two albums, much more is yet to come, and based on Solace, it will be an epic journey through sound.
