French DJ and producer Notre Dame returns to his Paranormal Society imprint with the deeply personal Recollection EP, a two-track exploration of memory and emotion that showcases the full spectrum of his cinematic production style. Following the label’s acclaimed launch with “Do For Your Love,” his debut label EP demonstrates the Parisian talent’s ever-evolving commitment to creating music that resonates on both personal and collective levels.
The EP presents two strikingly different yet complementary tracks that exemplify Notre Dame’s ability to traverse emotional landscapes while maintaining his signature hypnotic approach. The title track “Recollection” delivers classic house euphoria through vintage piano arrangements and raw dancefloor energy, while “Homesick,” featuring Shoure, ventures into introspective territory with melodic storytelling that captures the universal longing for sanctuary.
“This EP reflects a simple intention: to preserve two very different, but honest tracks,” explains Notre Dame. “‘Recollection’ is built for the dancefloor, with classic house piano and raw energy. ‘Homesick,’ on the other hand, is a melodic ballad co-written with Shoure, born from a quiet moment of feeling the need to go home. Two tracks, two moods, but the same desire to keep only what felt essential.”
The collaboration with Shoure on “Homesick” adds another dimension to Notre Dame’s growing network of creative partnerships, following his recent high-profile remix work for Röyksopp’s “Sordid Affair” and his contribution to Lenny Kravitz’s “Let It Ride” remix package. Shoure brings his emotional depth to the collaboration, explaining: “We conceived ‘Homesick’ as a melancholic ode to the sanctuaries of our lives. Despite the passing of time, nothing can diminish the pure, original love we hold for the places where we feel whole, our homes. The places we belong.”
