Do you like dogs? What about cats? I really don’t like either, but I prefer dogs over cats. I have never seen the excitement over a walking ball of fur. But when I was scanning news stories earlier today I ran across an article that involved kitties. Allow me to introduce you to Dameon Parker, a thirty year old man from Olympia. This man has been charged with animal cruelty as it relates to… killing cats. But he is taking that to the extreme. You see, what he does is takes neighborhood cats, collects them, cuts their heads off with a machete, and then hops on Facebook to brag about. He was caught earlier this week when a suspecting neighbor caught him carrying a machete with blood and cat hair on it. (I am not sure how the cat hair stayed on the machete, unless of course it was mixed in with the blood.)
But wait, there’s more. After he kills these cats he does give them a proper burial. He takes the headless cats and buries them in his back yard. This all came out when the neighbor went to Facebook and saw him bragging about the kill. That is when the authorities were brought in and charges were filed against Dameon.
Dameon is a real “winner”. No one knows where he works because on Facebook he has his employer listed as “@#%& you!” I went to his Facebook page actually and while the authorities have not forced him to take it down just yet, he doesn’t have that many friends nor that active of an account. I am a little nervous to request him to be my friend, especially sine I wrote this blog post about him.
Just for the record, no matter how much I hate cats, I would never approve of someone killing them like this. This is an obvious cry for help. Where are his parents in this matter? Granted, he is thirty years old, but he is out there collecting and killing cats… and bragging about it. There is something seriously wrong with this guy. Oh, and did I mention he is single? Who would have guessed that?
I hope that this kid learns his lesson from all this and the authorities do something to deter this from happening in the future. If he is killing cats, who knows what is next. Dexter started his reign by killing innocent animals. Perhaps he is modeling himself after a monster.
