I am excited to announce that I’ve accepted a new job at The Lakes Country Club, a private member-owned club located in Palm Desert, California.
Sheryl and I have moved a lot since first meeting in Indiana, but always for the sake of my career. But we are ready to put down some roots, and are excited to get back to the desert.
This opportunity will have me working for a large club with an HOA component, 27 holes, 23 tennis courts, a newly remodeled clubhouse and lifestyle & wellness center, a memorial library… A dog park! It will also give me the chance to work alongside Mr. Ron Phipps, CCM, CCAM, PCAM, LSM. He is a former CFO and is eager to teach me more on all things club finance. I will also be taking BMI Food & Beverage Management next spring and will be able to sit for the exam shortly thereafter. I’ve known Ron for several years, he sits on The Golden State Chapter of CMAA Board of Directors and I will have his full support of my journey to becoming a Certified Club Manager (CCM).
I start my new job on Monday, but we won’t be moving just yet. Our lease ends next month, so I will be working from home in the meantime. I can’t wait to get started, meet all the members & staff, and begin the next step in my career as the Executive Director of Marketing & Communications, a job I have a lot of experience in and something I am excited to jump back into.
