Before the song’s release, I had never heard of LUVIUM. But the songwriting, the vocals… Everything just pulled me in. It was like an invite to dive into the artist’s vibe. I wanted to dig deep, figure out what makes him tick and what inspires their music. It’s wild how a song can do that.
I had a blast teaming up with LUVIUM on this project. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and tunes from this rising star coming soon. It is my pleasure to introduce you to LUVIUM.

“Don’t Leave Me” is OUT NOW! Wow, what a great song. Tell me more about that release and what inspired this single.
“Don’t Leave Me” is my most personal song to date. When I started my writing process, I wanted to process all the feelings I had during a difficult time in the past into this song. It also felt a little scary because I was really revealing a part of my innermost self but working on the song felt like a personal healing process. I hope people can relate to the song and I can help them move forward with their personal healing processes as well.
I’m interested in learning more about the melodic bass genre. How would you describe it, and how does your music fit within this classification?
What I love about melodic bass is the combination of lyrics that tell stories, emotional and soulful melodies, and sounds, combined with energetic and hard-hitting drops. These elements together make me move more than anything else I know. I think a lot of people feel the same way. It’s just pure emotion.
You are from the heart of Austria. Where are some of your favorite nightclubs and do you get around Central Europe much?
Unfortunately, there is no real EDM scene in Austria and the surrounding area. It’s all about folk music and techno. (I’m working on changing this of course). So, it has always been my goal to one day perform as an artist in America and it looks like that dream will come true this year. There will be more news about this very soon!
What inspired “Don’t Leave Me” and how do you know when a song is ready? I’d have a hard time putting it down! But I’d also be eager to start working on the next project.
I firmly believe that music is like any work of art. With a painted picture, a painter could always add more little details, but at a certain point, you just must decide to consider the project finished. What helps me with this is to pay close attention at the end of the project to see if the elements I add make a difference! Sometimes less is more.
Speaking of that, what is your next project? Are you working on another single? Or perhaps an EP or a full-length album.
I’m currently working very intensively on several projects. The next song will be a single! I’m not allowed to say much about it yet, but I believe that the next (already finished) song will really make waves in the melodic bass scene.
You started a band as a teenager. Which instruments do you play, what genre was the band, and what was the band name? Do you keep in touch with your bandmates?
I started to play piano at a very young age. To this day it is my favorite instrument.
Later guitar, bass, and drums were added. My first band was a rock/punk band, we played smaller gigs, and I had a lot of fun writing songs here too. As each of us got older we moved away a little, but we still talk from time to time.
Tell me more about your single “Symptoms” and your experience working with Culture Code and Chandler Leighton on that release.
Working with Chandler Leighton and Culture Code was a great honor for me as I have been a fan of both of their music for years. Musically, our ideas harmonized very well and the songwriting process was super flowing. Chandler and Chris are incredibly talented and super friendly people!
Your logo is fantastic! Who designed it, and how many designs did you see before settling on this one?
Many thanks! It was designed by one of my closest friends. He is a very talented visual artist and I think he has made an incredibly valuable contribution. The logo represents a kingfisher, which is a rare animal that has settled down in my hometown in the last few years!
When you’re not in the studio, who and what do you find yourself listening to? What drives your creativity and passion as a DJ?
In my free time, I like to listen to acoustic versions of songs, which is kind of ironic as a producer, but I love it when there’s just a female vocal and piano, completely simple, and minimalistic but with big emotions. I could get lost in stuff like this forever.
I also think this has always helped me to focus on the emotion in the music, i.e. on melodies, chords, and the mood, instead of getting lost in the countless settings that you must make as a producer and sound engineer.
What headphones are around your neck? And do you use something different in the studio than you do on stage?
I’m using Audio-Technica ATH-M50X in the studio and on stage. For their price, these are incredibly good headphones and I know them inside out!
What advice would you give to aspiring DJs who are just starting their careers?
I would put the focus on creating good music first but at some point, there is no way around learning content creation and networking! One thing that has really helped me grow a lot as a producer is remaking my favorite songs!
Are you planning a tour this year? I’d like to experience “Don’t Leave Me” live!
Me and my team are working hard on the first LUVIUM U.S. shows for this year. I can’t wait for it!
How do you stay creative and avoid burnout in an industry that demands constant innovation and output?
I think the most important thing is to just have fun with what you do. I’m also naturally a very creative person, so there’s a need to be creative every day for me. It doesn’t matter if it’s music, content creation or even making my artwork, this stuff fulfills me, and I couldn’t live without it!
“Don’t Leave Me” follows the success of your single “Lie To Me” with KOIH and Donna Tella. Tell me more about that single, your experience working with them, and how your sound morphs from one song to the next.
“Don’t Leave Me” was all about that vocal, it all started from there! Donna Tella did such an awesome job, so the composition came out very fast and naturally. I put a lot of my past experiences as a rock musician into this song and I had a lot of fun doing it. But I feel that I have found my style with “Don’t Leave Me” and “Symptoms”. I think my sound will continue to develop in this direction in the future. I love these atmospheric cinematic sounds with trance elements!
What programs are you using to mix a song like this and how long does it take? I am sure it depends, but how long did “Don’t Leave Me” take from start to finish?
I have used Ableton since day one and I know it in and out. It really depends on the song, “Lie To Me” was done in a week, and “Don’t Leave Me” took several months to finish!
What’s next? I know you just released “Don’t Leave Me” but what are you working on next and when can we expect your next release?
I can’t talk much about the next release. Just this much: it’s a collaboration with a very well-known male singer in the melodic bass scene and it hits right in the feels…
Thanks for being here, man. I really enjoyed that. In all of the interviews I do, I always give the artist the last word. Go.
Thank you so much for your time, man, that was fun! I’m excited to show everyone what I have in store for this year and can’t wait to perform my first live performances in the U.S. This year is going to be big!
