Who sings the Dave Ramsey theme song?

I am basically obsessed with Dave Ramsey. I listen to him daily, and while I don’t agree with everything he says, I do love listening to him discuss and diagnose issues with spending habits with people. I listen to his podcast mostly, but you can find him on iHeartRadio, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube… He’s easy to find.

The point of this short blog post is not about his teachings or his ramblings, but his theme song. I was sitting on the couch the other night, listening to his podcast, and thought, “What is this? Who sings this song?” I’ve been listening to him for years, but never knew who wrote/sang the theme song.

“Debt is dumb, cash is king, and the paid-off home mortgage has taken the place of the BMW as the status symbol of choice.”

The song is “Baker Street,” written and produced by Gerry Rafferty. I had no idea… I also didn’t know this song had lyrics. Check it out!

That’s all… I could sit here and talk about home loans (Dave recommenda a 15-year fixed-rate mortgage) and buying your next car (Dave recommends paying cash for things with motors in them). But I’ll save that for another day.

Remember there’s only one way to financial peace… Wait, no. Like I said, I don’t agree with everything the man says!
